Looks good, you might also think about setting up wills, and a living trust, and getting life insurance showing each other as the beneficiaries.

Your daughter was born outside of the US, do you plan on taking her to the US as well? I hope that you have filed a Consular Report of Birth abroad, or you may have some issues travelling with your child.

You will also need to get a Consular Report of Birth Abroad for your kid, if not born in the USA.

I would check with your husband’s insurance company again. Marriage and pregnancy qualify for an addition without it being in the open enrollment time. If that’s not possible, you’re gonna have to cough up the money for insurance until you’re available to enroll in your husband’s policy.  No insurance in America is a death sentence to be completely honest. You may be able to get some stuff done at planned parenthood if there is one close to where you live but you would still have to pay. Not as much as other places but still money. I don’t know if you can get vaccines at PP though but PP would be your best bet for your pregnancy if you don’t have insurance. But, girl, get insured ASAP.

So just an update, we were approved 4-26, and we received the green card on 5-12. Thanks for all the support, and I hope the remaining Nov. 2016 filers get approvals soon.

    Hi Hikerwa,

This is good to know... I think I'm more afraid of the 5 pairs of eyes staring at me if we all have to wait for secondary than anything else

TONS of people coming back from travels just to find approval notice in the mail, ROC approval DOES NOT void i551 stamp. Get a stamp due to not receiving card yet and enjoy your travel.

    This is super wrong.
Traveling on valid 551 is totally fine. Case is still processed before you getting your card. Not sure why would you say “risky” to make a person worry if there is no basis for such comment other than personal guess

    APPROVED!!!

We have quite a story based on a getting an incorrect provisional green card that we filed a year earlier because we only received a 1 year not a 2 year green card.

    NOA 11/18/16  Approved 4/24/18

Could someone include this in the next update.

    Now for Citizenship in November!

After over a year of filing the I-751 my husband received the letter of approval. We were not asked to interview as we provided as much information as possible. No immigration officers at our house. Filed 11/4/2016. Approved lawful resident 4/23/2018. Best of luck to everyone!

Don't worry, that's perfectly normal, even if it doesn't make sense.

    Here is mine, for comparison:

Today I received the hard copy from the NBC, dated April 23, 2018.

This is what it looks like:

Not sure how long it will take for the card to show up, but I'll keep you posted. I have a stamp in my passport that is valid until the end of November, and I am currently waiting for my oath ceremony letter anyway, so I'm not too concerned about the 10-year green card.

    Yup, it is true!

You should be fine since you will only be travelling in the free zone. If you do travel further south, you will need a permit, it varies as to cost but the most common is about $200, it will be refunded when you return the permit.

USCIS CSC received our paperwork on the 17 of November, and we got the extension letter. Last week we encountered some confusion when re-entering the US. The officer at the border was not going to allow my wife back in because the date on the extension letter was past, but the date on my wife's GC was Feb. 13. The officer said that it was strange the letter had a different expiration date than her GC. Eventually we got through after talking to several other officers, but a bit of a hassle. Just wanted to share the experience, and if you plan on leaving the US it is better to get the infopass appt. and get your visa stamped, it will save you some time when you return.
