Been reading a bit about this new tactic by the worshippers of the church of climate change. It will be interesting to see how all this bureaucracy is ignored. I do love the headline writers from the Guardian and their progressive bias. Obviously it wasn't just the US arguing against this. Fury as US argues against climate obligations at top UN court Australia, China and Saudi Arabia – major fossil fuel economies and among the world’s worst greenhouse gas emitters – also argued against legal accountability that developing nations are pushing for. After years of campaigning by vulnerable nations and the global climate justice movement, the UN asked the ICJ to provide an advisory opinion on what obligations states have to tackle climate change and what the legal consequences could be if they fail to do so. More than 100 countries and organisations are testifying over the course of two weeks, and many hope the hearings will elevate science to the forefront, ensuring international law reflects the realities of climate breakdown and the urgent need for transformative action. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2024/dec/04/us-climate-crisis-legal-court

That is always a tough question as the statistics are always so fluid. Most denials can often be overcome eventually, so is that counted as a denial, or as an issued visa. Add to this is the fact that the process bridges multiple government agencies, and each one could be the source of the denial i.e. was the I130 rejected by USCIS, was the case rejected at the NVC stage, or was the visa application denied by the DoS? I cannot find specific numbers, but I expect completes case with plenty of evidence would be a fairly low rejection rate. Good Luck!

Can you imagine if Old Corrupt Joe stayed in the race and potentially won? Scary. -
Adjustment of status
Dashinka replied to Dawid1's topic in Adjustment of Status from Work, Student, & Tourist Visas
When did you file the package? The EAD/I765 can take some time to process, anywhere from 5-8 months. Good Luck! -
K1 visa application
Dashinka replied to Mahned's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
Each petition is separate and are processed at their own pace. There are a lot of factors involved at the petition stage such as which service center gets the petition, need for a background check of the petitioner, and mundane items like a USCIS clerk being out or something like that. One thing with immigration is that patience is a virtue. Hopefully your petition will process soon. Good Luck! -
Coming the US with my spouse
Dashinka replied to saied's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
First or at the same time based on my readings. The only issue arises when the intending immigrant arrives first, I remember a story of a couple where they were both arriving on the same day, but on different flights and the immigrant spouse arrived first, it was a headache. I do believe there are exceptions for spouse of active duty military members or contractors on official orders. -
DCF in Cairo, Egypt

Yes, take a completed I864 for you and also one if you are using a co-sponsor along with all the supporting evidence. Also, bring a copy of your BC and your parents marriage certificate. Basically bring all the information you submitted for your mother's petition. Good Luck! -
Coming the US with my spouse
Dashinka replied to saied's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Most airports have people that will help direct you to the proper line when you arrive. You as the USC can go with your spouse, to what I believe is the visitor line in order to activate her GC. It may take some time depending on the airport, so plan accordingly. Good Luck! -
Daniel Penny's Legal Defense Fund

The jury came back pretty quickly. 11:31 Daniel Penny declared NOT GUILTY The jury quickly came back with an unanimous decision on the lesser count of negligent homicide. Screams erupted in the courtroom after a decision was read. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14173683/daniel-penny-charges-verdict-trial-live-updates.html https://nypost.com/2024/12/09/us-news/daniel-penny-cleared-of-all-charges-in-jordan-neelys-death/ -
Seems to go here as much of the "green" energy items use a lot of these materials. China Announces a Ban on Rare Minerals to the U.S. The ban signals Beijing’s willingness to engage in supply chain warfare by blocking the export of important components used to make valuable products, like weaponry and semiconductors. Sales of gallium, germanium, antimony and so-called superhard materials to the United States would be halted immediately on the grounds that they have dual military and civilian uses, China’s Ministry of Commerce said. The export of graphite would also be subject to stricter review. https://www.msn.com/en-us/politics/government/china-announces-a-ban-on-rare-minerals-to-the-u-s/ar-AA1vbk7y

Hmm, I guess it is cheaper to shut off the turbines than to update the grid. Brits Pay Billions To Waste Wind Energy The UK paid £1.3 billion this year to compensate wind turbine operators for curtailment due to insufficient grid capacity. Addressing the curtailment problem would require a costly grid expansion, estimated at £40 billion annually. In the meantime, energy costs for British consumers are rising due to curtailment payments and reliance on expensive electricity imports during low-wind periods. https://oilprice.com/Alternative-Energy/Wind-Power/Brits-Pay-Billions-To-Waste-Wind-Energy.html

He may not be a pro, but he certainly has disappeared relatively easy. He seems to be good with fake IDs, so chances are he took the bus to Buffalo, headed across the border and got on a flight to a non-extradition country. As to motive, who knows, I heard some talking wonk suggest this may have been an elaborate suicide considering the investigations this CEO was under. Who really knows. What is troubling is the amount of folks that seem to think this killing was somewhat justified. If I was a CEO of any company, I would be a bit concerned.

Sorry, responded to the wrong post. Yes, this definitely seems to be the plan for Old Joe and whoever is actually running the current WH. -

We don't know the specifics, were there 11 not guilty and 1 favoring conviction, or some other make-up. Yes this is NYC, but even in NYC there are many people that would love to have Penny ride a train with them. -
Filing N-400 under 5-year rule (divorced)
Dashinka replied to Keila_27's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
Since you received your GC via marriage, you marital history may be explored during the N400. One sticking point may be the fact that you separated while the ROC was in process, but did not divorce until after that was decided. This could be something an IO may look at. Make sure you take evidence of the bonafides of your marriage to show it was entered into in good faith. As to your passport being in your maiden name, this is not an issue. My wife was in the same situation. Good Luck!- 2 replies
