It can take up to 30 days to get your NOA receipts. You can try to contact them and attempt to get your receipt numbers.

If you are residing legally in Hong Kong, then you can interview there. Have your UCS petitioner use your Hong Kong address on the I-129F and list the consulate in Hong Kong as the one you will apply at. List the children on the I-129F too. They will have one year from the date your K-1 visa is issued to get K-2 visas. They would apply and interview in Manila. There is a little bit of K-2 info in the Manila instructions. You can contact them about the details of the process and requirements. http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/1178798/packets/K1%20and%20K2%20Interview%20Preparation%20Instructions%20-%20English%20_updated%2010%20SEP%202014_.pdf

The answer to this question depends on your state law, as well as whether your then-husband has kids and made a will.
Be aware that such questions are considered quite inappropriate in US culture; after all, you are not even married yet and you are thinking not in terms of how you can keep him healthy, but about the minutae of his death and property distribution after.
Also, please change your flag to the one of your country.

sweet cakes reacted to KayDeeCee in K-1 visa - Does the marriage have to take place in US?
You must marry in the US within 90 days of entry using the K-1 visa. It is a one-time entry visa. Once you use it to enter, you need to marry within 90 days and then file for adjustment of status. You cannot leave the US without marrying, filing for AOS and receiving AP or the green card first, or you will abandon your eligibility to adjust status in the US to permanent residency.

If you want to marry abroad, then the K-1 is not for you. Get married abroad and then file for a CR-1 spousal visa.

    Print out your I-94 info > https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html
Follow this guide for getting the SSN > http://www.visajourney.com/content/ssn
Follow this guide for AOS > http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos
The fees for the I-765(EAD-work authorization) and I-131(AP-advance parole for travel) are waived when filed with a pending I-485, so include both of those too. It takes about 60-90 days to receive the EAD/AP combo card, which will allow you to work(along with an SSN) and re-enter the US when traveling abroad while waiting for the green card approval.
You need all the supporting documents for each form as well, so read the instructions for each one. You can also search here on VJ for what to include with each form if you get stumped. There are also example forms here on VJ you can look at when filling out the forms. They can be helpful.

You can definitely start applying for jobs and attend interviews. You just have to wait for the EAD card to arrive before starting to report for work.

That isn't necessarily so. A lot depends on where you want to practice and the type of practice. As with many things, the devil is in the details.
OP: Are you currently licensed in any US state? If not, have you started the process with NABP: http://www.nabp.net/pharmacists ?

You can get the SSN anytime before your I-94 has only 2 weeks validity left. Since the I-94 became automated/electronic, people have found that waiting 2 weeks after arrival has not been needed. Some have been able to get the SSN within days of entry with the K-1. If you wait until you only have 2 weeks or less on your I-94, then you will need to wait until you file for AOS and get your EAD in order to get the SSN.
Married yet or not, it is recommended to file for the SSN in your maiden name instead of bringing the marriage certificate and trying to get it in the married name. A lot of SSA workers don't understand the rules of their own job, so they tend give out misinformation and do things wrong a lot.

Whatever name you intend to use from now on should be the one you put on all the AOS forms. That will be the name that appears on your green card. So if you are changing your name to your husband's name, use that on the forms. Don't worry that your passport is still in your maiden name, it doesn't matter. Your marriage certificate is your legal proof of name change.

sweet cakes reacted to KayDeeCee in When do we have to File for AOS ???
This has been discussed many times. You can do a search for it here on VJ.
There is no time limit/deadline in which to file for AOS. As long as you married within 90 days then you are eligible to file based on your approved I-129F petition and fulling the requirements of the K-1 visa. However, you will be out of status and begin to accrue unlawful presence between your I-94 expiring and filing for AOS. There is the small chance of being detained for being out of status. Stay away from border check points or using buses for travel. Once you file for AOS, you then enter a period of authorized stay while waiting for your green card approval.
The sooner you file, the sooner she can get her EAD/AP and be able to get state ID or drivers license(and SSN of you did not get that yet), work and be able to travel outside the US and re-enter.

If your fiancé doesn't want to wait to work, it might be better to marry now and pursue a spouse VISA instead; he'd be able to work immediately on arrival in the United States.

In response to your title question, "When to we have to file for AOS?" As soon as possible after marriage. The longer you wait, the more problems can arise. Check the AOS progress forum, for numerous threads associated with delaying the process.

sweet cakes got a reaction from Papetica09 in Can NVC request more documents after I-129 approval/NOA2 by CSC?
For an approved I-129f, NVC simply assigns a case number to it and they don't ask for any other document. Your lawyer might be looking at the NVC processing of an immigrant visa: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process
    - Which is totally not applicable to K-1s.

If she has been outside the US for a year then there is a presumption in law that she has abandoned her residency. She would likely be issued with a Notice To Appear in immigration court by CBP if she attempted entry, where CBP would ask the judge to revoke her green card (if she refused to do so voluntarily).
If she has extremely strong proof that it was her original intention to return to the US in a timely manner and that factors beyond her control prevented her from doing so then an SB-1 returning resident visa is a possibility.

sweet cakes reacted to kehills in Help my K1 same sex visa was denied
As already noted, not many folks have seen K1 VISAs re-sent once it goes back to USCIS; the petition normally dies. If you have a really aggressive attorney and a sympathetic immigration person within your congressional office, they might be able to forestall the dying of the petition and have it re-approved and re-sent. (But given that it apparently said no appeal on your 221g, I'm not sure what the likelihood of this is.)
That doesn't matter, though, because it doesn't fix the problem you have with the State Department/Consulate, which is that they don't believe your relationship is legit. The chances of them believing it's legit if USCIS sends it back, is probably not very good. (Note: it might help here to make sure that you understand USCIS is part of DHS and not DoS; they're cooperating agencies, but just because USCIS says yes doesn't mean DoS is required to.)
I really honestly think you are beyond a DIY situation at this point. I completely understand and sympathize with wanting to do whatever is necessary to be with your partner, and the frustration of following advice you paid for and thought was good, only to find out years later that it's hurting you now. I cannot even begin to imagine the rage and frustration that must create-and this is why I think you need to find a good lawyer experienced (as much as possible) in this sort of situation. As long as the rest of your timeline matches up accurately (and that's hard to say because you haven't given us a lot of linear information, so I'm merely going on what I've gotten from this thread*), a good lawyer should be able to use that to your advantage (and help you work with DoS utilizing Windsor in particular).
*Note: I realize you feel like VJ members are just being nosy, judgmental, etc. This is NOT the case.. well, mostly. There's a wide range of knowledge in VJ member heads, in part because some of the older members have stayed active here years after their own immigration journey has finished. They do so because they want to help others - but the only way to accurately assist other people is have all the information, even the stuff no one wants to share. (See the entire waiver forum for how detailed and raw things can get, and how people still help.)
    Luck.
