Iran is proven to be state that sponsored terrorism. Organizations, such as Hezbollah and Hamas. Si, I would disagree with your statements. -

So, problem solved! Move and you will be happier. And trust me, us has plenty of PhDs. I am one of them. And there are many more that want to come here and will appreciate our way of life. Good luck. I can assure you, US will not lose a thing with your departure. -

N and J reacted to Transborderwife in Administrative Processing ???
A little something happened 15 years ago called 9/11. That is why it takes longer especially for people from middle eastern countries. Yes it's awful, but they have a lot of checks to do now. Look at what happened in San Bernadino. Sometimes people can have suspicious employment or similar names. It's a necessary step.
It can be days, weeks, months. Did they ask her to provide any other documentation?

I suspect the neighbor/cousin to be involved somehow. Aiding and abetting the fraud.

N and J reacted to Caykay1 in Is this a shame?
It's obvious she came in the marriage for green card status only. She's not interested. Report everything to immigration and they will handle it. Situations like this makes me sick because I'm here trying hard to get my husband here and people lie and make us "real life situation" hard. -
N and J reacted to HFM181818 in Why will visa be rejected after asking few questions
no third party, even an attorney, is entitled to a detailed explanation as to why their client or friend or whatever was denied a tourist visa...INA section 222f states that only law enforcement folks are or might be given more details.....no one is else is permitted to know such information, and no, just being a USC does not entitle us to everything known to mankind on this planet.
The poster who told the story about the alleged seamstress who couldn't darn a sock, let alone anything else, is a prime example of what can take place during an interview. I've had people tell me they were pilots, but could not answer a single aeronautical question, people who claimed to be doctors, yet failed answering any medical question I posed to them, 'karate champions' whose hands were as soft as a down comforter...Catholic priests who had a tan line where their wedding ring had been removed a week before! The list goes on and on...people claiming to be this or that, whose presence at some conference is critical to their 'careers'....but who cannot answer even the most basic question on whatever the subject and who often merely tried to memorize information from a pamphlet...I've had applicants who tried to 'study up' on their alleged specialty.....the problem comes when I asked them questions that poked holes in their memory....or I challenged more than a few to 'show me' what they could do (if applicable)....singers and dancers would be asked to perform, minor league pitchers asked to throw a few, black belt martial arts types to break boards....and when the fraudsters tried to muddle their way through my requests, well, those occasions were more than amusing...especially the phony black belts, one of whom broke his hand trying to break a board! I've had applicants run away from the embassy when asked to give me a demo of their unique skills....I've sat alleged IT/programmers down at a computer and start writing code to just flash their name across the screen...some couldn't even turn the computer on!!!
Thus, people who are seeking a visa to attend some conference (usually for the first time in their life) are going to be quizzed....thoroughly...some tried to take my attention away from the questions by waving their 'approved application to attend' in my face....which, as I pointed out, was merely a computer generated online form that would be approved on auto pilot and meant absolutely nothing in terms of the applicant's bona fides.
Bona fide conference attendees can answer questions easily, without pause for thought, without trying to haul out a bunch of questionable documents; mala fide attendees try to avoid answering direct questions and start down another path by trying to regurgitate slogans and pamphlet prose they memorized the night before...

N and J reacted to HFM181818 in Why will visa be rejected after asking few questions
Another fairy tale about a CO asking either zero or one question, then denying an application...utter nonsense...no interview would be conducted as described....total baloney. This 'client' was certainly asked several questions, and likely gave inconsistent answers to one or more of those questions, thus he never established his credibility....then, to make it look like it was the CO's fault that his application was denied, the client tells this tale of woe, trying to make it sound that whatever happened was not the fault of the applicant....who makes this stuff up?
When an applicant claims to be wanting/needing to go to some conference, the next several questions posed will be testing the applicant to see if the trip itself makes any sense or if the applicant has just responded online to the conference registration form (trying to make it look like the applicant is important or necessary for the conference to succeed) - my guess this is where the client fell flat on his face, unable to provide a coherent and believable explanation as to why his presence at said conference was so vital...

I disagree, I'd say the reason is both tourists staying illegally AND the people abusing the AOS system.

I'm a little confused. You want them to not require Medicals and police checks? So we should allow just anyone contamination or criminally get an immigrant visa? Please explain.

N and J got a reaction from mhammad in domestic violence
As much as I agree with some people....My personal view is why would you want to stay here if the relationship didn't work out. Yes some people only came here for a green card (not saying that about OP) and yes some people should go home...but I say that because it is so hard to start a life on your own as an immigrant in this country. It can be lonely so why not go home to your family. However, whatever her reason for wanting to say it is up to her. Is there really domestic violence we don't know. But last I checked this really wasn't a website set up to judge others which many people do on here. The immigrant isn't always right and neither is the citizen. Yet many times people say well the immigrant gave up their lives in their country. Not to sound rude they had a choice....most don't have to be forced to come here if they didn't want to be here or come here they wouldn't...sorry but no matter how good life is the person leaving their country makes the decision....so using this as an argument is absurd. There are 2 sides to every story and we as readers don't know both sides nor do we truly know the whole store....that being said...
OP contact the police. He can not legally hold your documents. They are yours and they are important for you to have.
Contact a domestic violence shelter. Will you become a public charge from this...maybe or maybe donations will help you get on your feet...Honestly, it doesn't matter save your life.
GET AN ATTORNEY!! You can call legal services in your area go to google and type in legal service in __________ put in whatever county or city you are in. They will help you. They help immigrants and low income individuals who can't afford and attorney for civil matters such as domestic violence and divorce...there are others too but they will help you.
If you want to leave you can always find organizations to help you pay for a flight. If you don't want to leave it is not impossible to get on your own 2 feet and be productive in society. There are reasons why laws are put into place to protect people who are going through this. Be safe and I wish you the best. Come back and give us a good update.

N and J reacted to Unlockable in re: CR1-visa entered the country without my knowledge
souladventurer,
There is little you can do. What everyone is trying to explain to you is that you have little evidence to report to immigration that will have any impact on her status. She has a GC. She will most likely get ROC by way of a divorce waiver.
There are cases on here where members have reported fraud to immigration with substantial evidence and still nothing was done.
All you have is a wife that entered country without your knowing and is living in another city. And even with that evidence whose to say that she won't have a change of heart and come to you next week.

N and J reacted to Unidentified in re: CR1-visa entered the country without my knowledge
How is it not a marriage visa? You and your wife proved to the embassy that you are a bona fide couple and they granted you the privilege to bring your wife to the US. They assumed you knew your wife well enough before you decided you wanted to spend the rest of your life together with her. It is not their fault that this happened. You proved bona fide relationship.
How long did you know her before you guys got married? How much time did you spend actually being with each other?

N and J reacted to Boiler in re: CR1-visa entered the country without my knowledge
Divorce happens, she can file to remove conditions earlier when it does.
ICE? Do not understand what she has done to interest them.
-
N and J reacted to NikLR in re: CR1-visa entered the country without my knowledge
She will still have to remove conditions but just needs to prove she entered the marriage in good faith. It doesn't sound like that will really be possible with zero evidence after entry and divorce almost immediately upon entry.

N and J got a reaction from -Shana- in Credit Score Showing 0 After 1 Year
You can go to credit Karma and get an about score for yourself. Normally phone bills, electric bills, things like that are not reported to credit agencies unless you ae late or don't pay. The only thing that will truly bring up your credit score is when someone gives you credit (like credit cards, loans, mortgages) and you pay it on time. As your limits on cards are increased your score will go up as well. In June you should have an increase by Capital One. If you have had a credit card with Cap 1 since January you should have a credit score. Check Credit Karma or use Capital One's credit tracker. Good luck. I have a decent credit score it has taken me 2 years to built it up to where it is now.
