    How is it incorrect?
I'm not sure what was meant by priority date, but it was mailed on 3/28 and arrived on 3/30. If they report back that the NOA date is something different then it can easily be changed.
The monthly threads are a group effort.
Asking one person to keep track of 50 cases seems unreasonable.

I really wish some people on VJ would not scare others who are currently in the US legally as a visitor and came in initially with a visitor's intent and subsequently decide to change gears from consular processing to AOS.
Once the border official let you in and you did not lie to them at the point of entry, you have nothing to fear.
Even though the I-130 that you filed suggests immigrant intent, and if you are admitted to the US and decide to switch to AOS you can file immediately if you wish.
Make sure to include a copy of your approved I-130 when you file for AOS.
Several on VJ including myself have successfully switched from consular processing to AOS stateside - without preconceived intent and without issue.
Without a doubt, people may have done this with fraudulent intent, but what they do does not concern your situation.

    Thanks for the well wishes!
As for the cost of vaccinations, once you determine which vaccinations you need, please check with your state health department before getting them done by the civil surgeon. The health department is usually a lot cheaper. I find the $500 a bit ridiculous that the civil surgeon wants to charge you.
I needed to have a couple of immunizations done, and I went the to the NY Health Department and I paid $40 for both of them. I just provided the civil surgeon with a record of the shots the NY health dept. gave me and he noted it on the I-693.

Thank God I was approved for my green card this morning after over a month of suspense! I also got the text/e-mail notification that my green card has been mailed
It's great to read that others from this thread were also approved recently.
Wow @virgi1988 - yours was intense with two interview but I'm glad that it all worked out in the end.

Terry J reacted to aaron2020 in Married USC before coming to US on an F1 visa, now wanting AOS
    Nancy,
    You got this wrong.
The F1 does not become invalid when he applies for AOS. He is asking to adjust his status from F-1 to LPR. How can his F-1 end before he gets a new status? It doesn't end. His adjustment will either be approved or denied. If it is approved, he goes from F-1 to LPR at that time. If it is denied, he does not lose his F-1 as long as he maintained it. His request to change his status is what is denied.
Furthermore, preconceived intent to immigrate alone is not a valid reason to deny an AOS of an Immediate Relative of a USC as long as the person did not lie at the POE.
The OP has already stated that he/she changed his/her mind after getting here. Don't seem to be any reason to doubt him/her.

Just for sake of clarification, since the acronyms are getting confused:
Customs & Border Protection (CBP) = United States

Actually, the situation you describe is illegal in Canada, too. Work is work, whether you get paid for it or not. And of course us citizens can work for free in the us, since they are legally entitled to work. Again, work is work, in Canada or the US, whether or not you get paid.
Just because some people get away with it doesn't make it legal.

You need to submit the required documents per each form. So if both the I-130 and the I-485 are asking for a certified copy of the marriage license and divorce decree and G-325A form then submit the same documents twice.
You can submit photocopies of the required documents (marriage license, divorce papers, birth certificates etc...) and make sure you bring the original/certified copy to the interview so they can verify them.
my thoughts to you is to work your way through one form at a time to avoid stressing yourself. Read the instructions for each form very carefully - you can download them from the USCIS.gov website.
Here's the order you can tackle them:
I-693 (Medical) get started on this ASAP as it'll take a few days to complete.
I-130 - both you and your husband each submit a G-325A.
I-485 - only your husband will need to submit a G-325A.
    I-864 (Affidavit of Support)
    I-765 (EAD-Employment Authorization Document)
    I-131 (AP-Advance Parole)
    Filing fees are $420.00 for the I-130. $1070.00 for the I-485 (this includes the I-765 & I-131).
For the I-693, you'll need to find a civil surgeon in your area to perform the medical and the cost varies widely.
Make sure to sign all the forms and mail all of them together in the same envelop organized in an orderly fashion.
A cover sheet outlining what you're including with each form is a good idea.
    Good luck to you.

Terry J got a reaction from aussie_jason in questions regarding the I-485.
    1. Most people file the I-130 and the I-485 at the same time if they are in the US and planning to AOS. Since your ESTA is now expired you are out of status.
Filing the I-485 and getting the notice that your I-485 was received by USCIS puts you into an authorized period of stay until your AOS is adjudicated. You want to get this done asap.
    2. You would choose option A for Part 2 because you would be filing the I-130 at the same time, which if approved would give you an immediate visa number.
    3. Given your situation, I would suggest that you file the I-130 & I-485 concurrently (together).

I miss Canada big time! I've been living in NYC since the end of Dec 2013. It's a far cry from Montreal where I was raised and lived most of my life.
Imagine, I leave, and now the PQ is finally ousted and the Habs are in the playoffs! I second Erica in that I also miss a good ice cappuccino from Tim Horton's. I tried a couple of them in Manhattan and God it tasted awful!
Seriously though, it's been a tough adjustment for me because I am really not loving NYC but I'm managing. My husband is so understanding and supportive. He went through a similar journey when he left our native country of Trinidad to immigrate to the US a few years ago so he gets the homesick feeling. I can't wait to go back for visits once I get my green card. I really miss my mom the most...
I haven't made any friends here yet but I know I'll eventually make some new connections. I have such awesome family and friends back in Canada and it's great that we still keep in touch regularly.
It's been great to read this thread

Terry J reacted to Harpa Timsah in AOS process running fine but about to lose Australian citizenship
It sounds as if the OP's wife never actually got Australian Citizenship, but was waiting to take the oath to become one, but decided instead to leave the country and take up residence somewhere else. Then she wanted to become a citizen while no longer meeting the residency requirements to become one in Aus.
Presumably not the same as your situation, pacharya.

    loop·hole noun \ˈlüp-ˌhōl\
: an error in the way a law, rule, or contract is written that makes it possible for some people to legally avoid obeying it
There is no error in the way the law is written that allows AOS. There is WRITTEN LAW that allows AOS explicitly. Your definition is flawed, although it still supports AOS from visitor visa or VWP as the intent of the system is to allow for it under the appropriate circumstances.

Terry J reacted to Harpa Timsah in Is AOS from B1/2 reasonable in this case?
I have seen a few AOS's from Morocco. Because your husband was able to get a tourist visa in the first place, he has passed a certain gauntlet regarding fraud, if that makes sense. He proved at one point that he had a good enough life at home and reasons to return that he could be issued a tourist visa. Therefore he showed that he was not just doing whatever it takes to get to the US, and that he was not a criminal or otherwise inadmissible to the US.
Without knowing more, I can't know if a lawyer is a good idea or not, but I don't think just being from Morocco warrants a lawyer. If you were to fail your first interview, then I suppose you could get a lawyer at that point. Good luck.
Edit: And despite what this board thinks, AOSing based on marriage to a USC is far from the main reason for tourist visa denial back home. This is a marriage-based board, so people see it and it gets them mad, but the real culprit is just mass amounts of people plain overstaying and living/working illegally in the US.

After setting the alarm for an obscenely early hour so I could get up and call USCIS, and then having a sleepless night dreaming that we got declined.... checked my email this morning and found this:
On March 19, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN.

I wouldn't believe it. Usually what the service centers do is start approving the most resent petitions. Everyone gets all excited and its someone who filed like 3 months ago so guess what the average comes way down
You really don't believe the ones waiting past 7 months are figured in that 5 months do you. Lets see some old petitions start getting approved than I will get all excited.

Oh I'm rocking the boat and I lodged our first service request earlier this evening. My patience has now completely expired. If the USCIS wants to set their processing timetable in a foolish manner and I can capitalize on it, then so be it.
I know that I'm very, very fortunate that I'm now with my husband in the US but please don't hate on me for that. I know that many are going through serious emotional distress being separated...I lived it...so I know many of you deserve to get answers and approvals fast!
But it still does not justify them sitting on our I-130 for 6 months since being transferred!
Our NOA1 issued on July 2, 2013. Our petition has been transferred and sitting at NSC since Sept 2013...and some people who filed before me are still not approved??? Those transferred to NSC after me and with NOA's after me are getting approved???
    Complete, utter, freaking rubbish!!!
Sorry folks, but I'm mad enough for all of us at this moment.
