Women/men no matter how different from what we thought they were aren't things that can be simply shipped back or put in a plane.

There are many horrendous, disgusting atrocities in this world committed by males, and awful natural/accidental tragedies, but yeah sure, nothing as bad as a 'bad woman' exists.

I have linked US and Canadian bank accounts with RBC. I just got a US credit card through them and am hoping to have some kind of credit rating within 3-6 months.

It is the fastest and easiest way to get a green card. All you have to do is say you did not intend to adjust status when you entered the US. That's it.
Personally, I regret doing things correctly.

The girl asking for advice came to the US to visit her boyfriend, and he proposed while she's been here. She has now posted on FB asking advice about how to deal with immigration because she wants to get married in South Africa. I, and many others, advised her to get married here, then after green card (or AP) go back to SA and have the wedding she wants. I specifically suggested they do a fiance visa, due to better timelines, but then the woman I quoted said, effectively, just come back after you get married, using your visitors visa and adjust status to get your green card. No problem!
I replied with "that's fraud" and warned of the ban from the US, and suggested this site. I'm not really sure why this struck a chord with me, but I'm so pissed that people would suggest that to her. Like, hey, why didn't we think of that?! How simple! >

You can wear what you want. You don't need rings. Inquire at your local county clerk's office regarding the timing of the licence/ceremony etc. They are all different depending on how busy they are.

This is one of those head scratching threads (for me at least) Also makes me worried about the future course this planet as a whole is on when a Harvard graduate student is asking things like my wife is really sick should I call a lawyer?
So before this thread turns into everyone and their brother attempting to diagnosis his wife- its clear the wife is suffering from some kind of depression, perhaps more. We do not know her background or predisposition to mental illnesses. She needs to get some kind of help from a professional because it will only get worse. Since he stated its been going on for so long and she seems to care about nothing she could be getting suicidal so he needs to act now.
There was no mention of health ins or not, if they have ins they can use their ins co website to find a Dr. If they do, or even if they do they can use this website-
    http://therapists.psychologytoday.com/rms/prof_search.php
Psychology Todays Find a Therapist - where you enter in your zip code and things like specialty type (depression, eating disorder, elder abuse) and Drs come up in your area. You can find one that works on a sliding scale if you have NO INS. Therapists and social workers (LCWs etc) are cheaper then psychiatrists and psychologists. Finding lots of Drs with the same address/phone number means they work in a group office which may work out best because you can call the office and the secretary can direct you the appropriate staffer for you needs both price wise and medically wise.
As for immigration which is why you opened this thread on this forum on not a mental health forum
Number one your ROC is not for a while. Number 2 a lot of people confuse the terms bonafide marriage with happy marriage. They are completely different things. REAL MARRIAGES HAVE UPS AND DOWNS. They are not 100% happy all the time. If they were they would not be real.
Your wife being depressed and you not having vacation pictures or happy Christmas pictures or posing on the beach this recent summer pictures because she was in bed does not mean your marriage isnt genuine. Because you are working a lot and living in a ####### place and not in the little house with the white picket fence and the 2.5 kids- its still a real marriage. Youre just not leave it to Beaver.
As for the not wanting to disappoint the officer who approved you or have their rating go down? What the ..heck??!! That is the most misguided placed concern Ive ever heard- or rather seen. Your wife- the woman you profess to love so deeply on here is drowning but no lets all focus on making sure the officer doesnt suffer a bad job performance review and invest our money into a lawyer.
Sorry, maybe that was a bit too much tough love. But pull it together. Theres no excuse for not eating well. Theres no excuse for 'manhandling' her. And theres no excuse for not getting both you and her some help because you both need it.
(As for your ROC- unless you are attempting to say right now- or if after counselling when ROC is due- your wife (due to mental issues) still does not care and refuses to sign the joint ROC application and you have had a bonafide relationship and its causing you as you say 'trauma' - then you have a legitimate immigration issue and there is a solution for it- but theres no point in spelling it all out now when that does not seem to be your problem)

I think there's only one 'original' copy with the wet signature of the Judge and it is filed with the courthouse where the divorce was finalized. The court never releases this copy.
A certified copy (with signature/stamp of the court clerk as well as embossed seal on all pages) is a certified copy of the original and can be used for all purposes. I believe most courthouses you need to obtain this in person, but it may vary from state to state / county to county. You may need to assign power of attorney to someone in order to retrieve it.

They are not judge and jury, they are enforcement. You gave up your right to a judge when you accepted and signed the confession and agreement of penalty in order not to be further inconvenience by what is considered an illegal act, an attempt to enter the USA and do work without authorization. Had you gone before the judge and plead your case, you may have gotten off with a warning. Bans for working without authorization are normally 3 or 10 years, it appears they split the difference with what they offered you. You made the choice not to go before a judge, now you're regretting that choice and claiming you had none, when your own words told us you did. Just because it was not convenient, does not mean you did not have the opportunity. Instead you come here and blame a system, which granted is certainly not perfect, but is basically the exact same system your country uses, enforcing the exact same laws your country has. You basic complaint is you repeatedly broke the law, got caught, were carrying evidence of breaking the law, admitted breaking the law, and now want to renege on the plea agreement you accepted so you could go on your merry way.

Correct, lest they get banned for helping out. But, while I may not agree, I do understand; there are large organizations, unions, etc of labourers who's sole job is to do exactly that: wrap cables and touch guitar picks. If my buddy decides to help us tear down at the end of the night, that's a gig that did not go to someone who would otherwise be hired to do so. And while the average person can see a clear distinction between a buddy wrapping cables for an indie band that isn't getting paid anyway and a union stagehand loading Justin Timberlake's PA and staging out of Madison Square Garden, at its core, they are doing the same job, just one person is a US Citizen (or otherwise legally authorized labourer), and the other is someone who came from another country (and, by definition, misrepresented themselves) as a visitor, and is now performing a task that the aforementioned labourer will not be hired to perform. Rather than operate in grey areas and worry about where to draw the line between 'helping a buddy' and 'illegally taking a job away from an American', CBP boils it all down to its core, which is that someone entering the US as a visitor is not allowed to work in any capacity, paid or not, as it results in a job being taken away from someone who is legally able to work; be it wrapping a cable, babysitting, or setting up an IT network for a friend's new business.
To put the shoe on the other foot, how would it feel to know that you, being out of work, were not hired and paid to do the job that you possibly spent tens of thousands of dollars to be trained, educated and certified in, because someone (supposedly 'visiting' from another country, no less) was doing it, and for free? Just yesterday, I moved to the US from a city in southwestern Ontario, Canada which has both an incredibly large immigrant population (and massive seasonal migrant worker population) AND one of, if not THE, highest unemployment rate in Canada, and all people in that city do is complain about all the immigrants taking jobs from Canadians. We can't have it both ways.
Ultimately, the law is the law, and one does not have to agree with CBP's distinctions and interpretations for it to exist. It is what it is, and when entering another country, one needs to be informed of the legalities surrounding what they can or cannot do while in that country or suffer the consequences.

It's perhaps worth mentioning that should you decide to become a US citizen you will have to "renounce" your Canadian citizenship during the oath. They're just words, but still, it's enough to put some people off the idea.

My petition was at CSC in 2012/13 and it took 9 months to NOA2. Vermont was the quick one then. Texas wasn't even doing them. Just the way it goes, unfortunately.
