If she can't get a tourist or other visa to the US, maybe you can investigate her options/ability to visit Canada. From there, you could meet at Peace Arch Park (on the Washington/British Columbia border). The park straddles the boarder and you may go on both sides....as long as you don't leave the park. Many families who are separated for visa/immigration reasons use the park for this purpose. Now one meeting, over one day....still may not work out for you. But it is an option.

It went fine. He was super nice and wanted to see me get all the correct answers that he asked my wife first. Almost coaching me through some. I am going on 2 hours sleep so my head was mush. Was struggling with basic questions. All I need is a birth certificate in long form and he said I will have my greencard.

When you apply for removal of conditions after two years, then you will need the evidence. For AOS. you don't need it.

I made several long trips here before I got my K-1. two of them were for the full 90 days. I have never been called into secondary, and only had a couple of questions about the lengths of my stays. Its common sense that if you can afford it, and have the spare time you would stay as long as you could.

If you want to go to college then you can do entry tests that determine your level. You may not need to do many classes to get your GED.

Then don't click no in the GED, or high school diploma section. (I always answered yes to these) You finished secondary school in the UK, and have exam results to prove it ,thats as good as having a high school diploma. If it comes up at interview show your UK test results and explain how you got them.
I applied for several jobs, had three interviews, and was offered all three positions. Not once was my school qualifications mentioned. Like you I am not that young, and have employment history that shows my abilities.

Nope, I must be lying to deliberately inconvenience someone I have never met.
Yes, really. Surely if there is even a small chance of this happening it is worth warning someone that this might be the case. Better to be safe than sorry. Cancelling a ticket is far less inconvenient than dealing with the repercussions of a presumed abandonment of someones adjustment of status.

There will be no court appearances for this posters overstay. Barring any other criminal or misrepresentation issues, this is a simple adjustment of status case. All overstays and even working illegally are forgiven with marriage to a USC.

What has happened??? I thought this was a forum where we helped each other out?? No, pregnancy is not a criteria for speeding up the process. And there is so many nicer ways of saying this than attacking. Can't believe it even comes from people who I considered as nice people. Guess I was wrong... LORIEandPHIL reacted to Amy_and_Victor in Best credit card to build credit in the US?
What are the other options if you can't get a joint credit card with your spouse (for example, your spouse has bad credit sore)? You can get either small secured loan, either secured credit card. If you're going to use it for building credit score only there is not much difference between them. Secured loan will have some interest added, secured card most likely will have annual fee. Pay off everything timely and you will not be charged extra fees beyond that. From my personal experience credit card affects score faster than loan. I had secured loan, it was reporting to credit agencies every month, but in 4 months my score barely changed at all, like 2 or 3 points up. Credit card changed it way more after only 3 months. You don't have to keep this first credit card forever, once you get better credit - apply for better cards with benefits, no annual fee or whatever you want and once your credit score is very good you can close your first card. It will negatively affect credit score, but it will recover soon with smart use of new cards and first card will not be a burden anymore. You need it for 1-2 years maximum and some banks will offer to upgrade your card to better one after that so you will not even have to close account. Sometimes you simply have no choice. I applied for like 4 or 5 credit cards (mostly dept. stores that tend to approve people easier) and was declined everywhere until I applied for secured card from CapitalOne and was appoved. I might get rid of that secured card next year since a have a few good credit cards now and they will keep biulding my credit history.

Exactly, but it doesn't build your credit, that's the point. Debit cards usually don't come with good benefits/rewards package either. I think it's actually better to not spend more with credit cards than you can afford to pay back. If you're in a financial hardship and have to spend more than you can pay back before grace period ends, sometimes it's cheaper to get a short term small loan than deal with credit card late fees or interest. I've seen a lot of examples how people screwed themselves with spending more money with credit card than they can pay back, and they're ending with paying a lot more to the bank or dealing with collectors that ruins your credit score a lot. Especially if you're just starting to build your credit history, it's not a wise financial decision to consider credit card as a tool to easily spend more than you can afford now.

My wife got a $1500 secured card from BOA and then 6 months later got a Capital One card and used it for 2 years with no complaints.
Now 3 years later she has; among other cards, a Chase Sapphire Preferred card with a $14,000 limit and a credit score of 790.
    Pay early and pay often!

I got a Capital One secured card back in April. Yes, I am the USC, but a past bankruptcy (exhubby was terrible with money) and being back and forth living out of the country left me with very spotty credit. Back in Sept, I was approved for a Kohls card...and just approved for a regular Capital One Card (unsecured). Keep your balances low....and pay your bills on time. Those are the BEST tips I know of. Also, every time someone does a hard inquiry on your credit (when you apply for credit) you lose points on your score...so be careful applying. I use credit karma to keep track of things...its free, and although it doesn't give you all your scores from the different agencies, it does give you an idea of how you are going in building your credit.
