You aren't late. Just file your I751 before it runs out.

Just to get it right there is only a little over a month til your GC expires? Then you still have time gather all the information you need and get it sent off

    This is what I did.
    1) Got a secured credit card through my bank (WF) - I kindly lent them $1000 at 0%APR for this privilege.....
    2) Used about 30% of that credit every month - if you don't your score will go down (go figure)
    3) After only three months got offered a "proper" credit card by Capital One which I took out and got a huge $500 credit line on that one.
    4) Wait
During this time I have tracked the ups and downs of my credit score on creditkarma.com - good site.
It goes down if I don't put purchases on the cards and also dropped when the hard enquiry on the second card hit. A temporary issue and I have no plans to splurge on anymore credit applications for the time being. The one other the bank recommended (and they would wouldn't they) was a bank loan as additional types of credit improve your score. As I don't need to borrow money and don't really need a higher credit score at the moment I didn't take them up on their kind offer of a loan at outrageous levels of interest. Reading CreditKarma there is obviously a sweet spot in terms of number and type of credit lines but the biggest deal is how long you have had the credit lines and there is not a lot you can do about that.
By way of comparison - on my cards in the UK I had a typical limit of 10-20,000 UKP - here I'm only good for $500 on an unsecured card - starting over indeed !
Oh and make sure any cards you have report back to the credit agencies !!

You have a really similar timeline to us by the looks of it. Right now my face is probably red like that one in your post! I would wait to call as its still quite early, but seeing approvals from people who filed just before us gets my hopes up I'm waiting on a call back from a Tier 2 officer as to why I haven't received my NOA1 hardcopies even after filing a service request a month ago, so hopefully I can wrangle some information out of him/her as to roughly when mine will be approved or what date they are approving. This is all just wishful thinking but I will let you know how I get on! I'm just so impatient for that work permit.

Not really. If you have a reason to expedite your EAD, then you can try to go for that but otherwise all it is is a waiting game.

Just a few questions regarding work and applying for work.
I have arrived to the US on K1 got married.
    I have applied AOS/Travel Docs/Employment Authorization.
My Bio-metric appointment is on the 4th August.
I have started to look for causally looking for work, updating Linkedin Profile, Monster, etc, etc.
I have also applied I have stated that my working authorization is pending.
Just wanted to confirm that is ok, also my father in law has mentioned to my wife about me work off the books.
Which I have refused to do.
Any advise in what I can and cannot do at this time?

You can apply for work now. You just can't work until your permission is approved. If you got a job offer now, it might be hard to find an employer willing to wait a few months for you to start working. Good luck.

My K1 AOS list. Try it as a checklist.
    I-485 (Adjustment of Status)

Photographs (2) of immigrant (passport type)
Photocopy of birth certificate of immigrant with translation
Photocopy of passport biographical page and K1 visa page (immigrant)
Form G-325A Biographic Information Sheet (immigrant)
Form I-864 Affidavit of Support (by USC) with photocopies of supporting documents: This varies by each applicant so here's generic suggestions:
    ---Employment letter
---3 tax returns including copies of W2s (Photocopy) or IRS tax transcripts (photocopy) Only 1 year is required
    ---six recent pay stubs (Photocopy)
(If needed)Form I-864 Affidavit of Support (by Co-sponsor) with photocopies of supporting documents:
---Proof of co-sponsors citizenship/status, ie US birth certificate, bio page of passport, naturalization
    papers, or LPR status
    ---Employment letter
---3 tax returns including copies of W2s (Photocopy) or IRS tax transcripts (photocopy) Only 1 year is required
    ---six recent pay stubs (Photocopy)
Photocopy of I-797 Notice of Action, I-129 Petition Approval (That's your NOA2)
Certified copy of Marriage Certificate (can be photocopy of certified marriage certificate)
Copy of Form I-94 Arrival/Departure record- (print it out at www.CBP.gov/I94)
Form I-693 with the immunization section filled out by a US Civil Surgeon, signed and sealed by him. Read the instructions for the form. OR photocopy of DS-3025 from UK medical if all shots were completed and recorded by Knightsbridge. One or the other, not both.
    I-765 (Employment Authorization)

Photographs (2) of immigrant (passport type)
Photocopy of passport biographical page and K1 visa page (immigrant)
Photocopy of Form I-94 Arrival/Departure record
    I-131 (Advance Parole travel document)

Photographs (2) of immigrant (passport type)CPB.gov/i94
Photocopy of passport biographical page and K1 visa page (immigrant)
Photocopy of Form I-94 Arrival/Departure record
Add a check for $1070 made out to the Department of Homeland Security paper-clipped to your cover page. Behind the cover page put a Form G-1145 if you want to be notified that they got your applications. The cover page will look similar to the above list telling what you have included in the envelope.
That's 3 separate applications with supporting evidence all mailed together in one envelope with one check, one cover page, and one G-1145. They will get processed in different places, so that's why the duplication of evidence. You don't have to do all three, but the second two are free if sent with the AOS and will get you
authorized to work or travel sooner than waiting for the green card to arrive in most cases. Green card could
take 6 months. Work and travel 60-90 days.
Do not work until the I-765 is approved and you have the EAD card. Do not leave the US until the I-131 is approved (K1s) and you get the travel documents or you will not be allowed back in. Once you have a green card, then no problem.
Note: The EAD and AP are now coming as a combo-card covering both things. AP used to be a paper document. and EAD a credit card size thing, as is the greencard (permanent resident card).

OP has K-1 in the timeline, so I assume K-1. People with criminal records can get visas, it all depends on the crime. If OP got the visa then it is good to go.

Apply for EAD/AP together...it's a combo card, and both filings are free when applied with AOS.

Sorry... For some reason missed seeing that.... Go to https://nystateofhealth.ny.gov/. Which is the ACA marketplace website for NY residents... Bei g a new immigrant you should qualify under the special circumstances... So contact them and see if you can buy off the open market even though you are outside the open enrollment. ACA or the expanded medicaid is not considered a means tested benefit...

    Here's my AOS listhttps://docs.google.com/document/d/1FIsgnb7Tfj7tcRNnqRMKUOXQdEfR6HTUDY2vX6zKqqU/mobilebasic?authkey=CNXN_oQH
It's UK specific only because it mentions the Knightsbridge clinic in London, but otherwise good for any K1 as a summary or check list.
AP is free. There have been others who thought they had no plans to return, then something tragic happened and they were desperate to get back to their homeland.
You can likely drive on your UK license as a visitor until you gain EAD or a greencard that allows you a state driving license. Each state has their own driving laws. Modify your timeline to show which state you will be in.

Here's the guide for adjustment of status from K1 visas: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos
If you want to apply for employment authorization, include the I-765 (link to the form is in the linked guide) in your AOS package. The filing fees for the I-765 and I-131 (for advance parole) are waived if you are adjusting from a K1, so it would definitely be "worth" it to file both.
Applying for SSN - check out Darnell's guide: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/405546-ssn-howto/
Driver's license - might be helpful to check out your state's DMV website as the requirements and application process varies.
    Best of luck!

First have a good nights sleep when you get here. Enjoy your significant others company.
One minor detail you might want to do is get married within 90 days of entry into the united states.
Then it is a whirlwind of AOS, EAD, advanced parole paper work, biometrics and mainly more waiting.
Yes, definitely file for everything as EAD and advanced parole is free when filed with AOS.

    1. About 6 weeks from when they get the last piece of info on you (either your returned forms or your medical results, whichever is last).

    2. They want to know your vaccination history - so you only need that. If you've got an existing condition, or have ever had a mental illness (depression, self harm, suicide attempts), or have ever had TB etc. then they'd like info on that. Look at the medical questionnaire you complete to get an idea of what they're likely yo be interested in (stuff you respond "yes" to). If you're basically healthy, just the vaccination records are needed.
The info about what they want to know and the questionnaire you need to complete can be found on the embassy website here: http://london.usembassy.gov/immigrant-visas/medical-examination.html (look to the right for the PDF).

When you get packet 3 it will tell you, however as you will receive it after 1 Sept then I would suggest you do the 260.
Has the embassy received your docs from NVC yet. I would be wary of sending stuff too early in case they dont know who you are and your forms get put in a pile of stuff from folk they do not know about yet.
I think the best thing is to let it run it's course, do what they tell you when they tell you, it will not go any quicker by trying to pre empt the process.
If you send in DS2001 you are saying you are ready and yet you are not going to send either DS260 OR DS230 pt1, that definately will not help.
