Do I need to do after I after my arrival to the United I understand that I file for Adjustment, I would like to apply for Employment Authorization?

I not intending on leaving the United States but would it be worth me applying for advance parole?

How do I get a Social Security, a state non drivers id, etc.

Many Thanks

Here's the guide for adjustment of status from K1 visas: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos

If you want to apply for employment authorization, include the I-765 (link to the form is in the linked guide) in your AOS package. The filing fees for the I-765 and I-131 (for advance parole) are waived if you are adjusting from a K1, so it would definitely be "worth" it to file both. :)

Applying for SSN - check out Darnell's guide: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/405546-ssn-howto/

Driver's license - might be helpful to check out your state's DMV website as the requirements and application process varies.

Best of luck!

First have a good nights sleep when you get here. Enjoy your significant others company.

One minor detail you might want to do is get married within 90 days of entry into the united states.

Then it is a whirlwind of AOS, EAD, advanced parole paper work, biometrics and mainly more waiting.

Yes, definitely file for everything as EAD and advanced parole is free when filed with AOS.

Thank you, goodnight and may your gods go with you",

Here's my AOS list

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1FIsgnb7Tfj7tcRNnqRMKUOXQdEfR6HTUDY2vX6zKqqU/mobilebasic?authkey=CNXN_oQH

It's UK specific only because it mentions the Knightsbridge clinic in London, but otherwise good for any K1 as a summary or check list.

AP is free. There have been others who thought they had no plans to return, then something tragic happened and they were desperate to get back to their homeland.

You can likely drive on your UK license as a visitor until you gain EAD or a greencard that allows you a state driving license. Each state has their own driving laws. Modify your timeline to show which state you will be in.

If your K-1 medical was done within a year of filing for AOS, then no new medical is required. You do not need a new TB test, blood work, or any other aspects of the medical. You only need to have all required vaccinations marked off on a properly filled out DS-3025, or receive any missing vaccinations and have a civil surgeon fill out page one and the vaccinations page of an I-693..

If I Adjust status after the expiration date of my chest xray.

How much would the new chest xray cost and where do I go to get them done?

What Kay said ^above.

Expiration of chest x-ray at 6 months only applied to visa and not AOS.

If you do need to get a new xray, exam etc. You will need to go to a US civil surgeon, but as mentioned above you have a year to get the AOS done before you need to worry about that stuff again.
