    I agree with everyone else, FOIA. Either way, NOT a DIY case, it's far more than knowing how to "fill out paperwork". Best of luck and keep us updated. Most people never come back to update us and I would genuinely like to know the outcome of your case.

    You don't need one from your birth country if you moved before you turned 16. You need pcc's for any and all countries you've lived in for SIX months or more after the age of 16, not twelve months. Good luck on your journey.

    Yikes, this is why you needed to read the actual instructions. At the top of the page click on Guides, all the information you need to know is there. Any further questions, please ask here on Visa Journey instead of listening to the advice from others who don't know what they're talking about. That was a costly mistake.

    An I-130 is a petition for a spouse visa (CR1), not for a green card. The green card isn't given until after the beneficiary enters the U.S with his CR1 visa.

    Just out of curiosity: did you not know that you had to stay unmarried? Don't listen to anyone who says that you still have a chance to get this visa, there is a 0% chance that you will receive it. There is no work around by excluding your spouse, married is married. Period. End of story. I agree with @Boiler even divorce will not save it, the moment you married the visa was dead in the water.

    If I were you, I would file ASAP. Why take the chance of being out if status and getting caught? @Crazy Cat gave you a good example of what can happen if you wait. Definitely not a chance that I would ever be willing to take. Congrats on your marriage and good luck on your journey.

    There were no restrictions here in NH, there were at 8 of us who went to my husband's ceremony. There was limited seating though and many guests had to stand. I would check with your local office.

    I've been on this site for 12 years and I have never seen an RFE specifically asking for photos with a handwritten date and place. Pictures are not very strong evidence proving a bonafide relationship as anyone can pose for pictures.

    The wait time is the wait time, no one knows exactly how it works or how long it will take. It varies greatly from consulate to consulate and from even case to case, depending on the circumstances. Your case still needs to go through the proper channels and background checks, emailing isn't going to prompt an officer into allowing you to to "skip the line". There is nothing fast, easy or cheap about U.S immigration.

    The B1/B2 is definitely a business visa and not a tourist visa, correct?

    Not sure where you would ever get this idea. I've been on VJ for a dozen years and this is very far from the truth. Most petitioners, are in fact, far below retirement age.

    Most people are NOT refused entry, especially coming from the UK. OP, this person's answer is not accurate and to be honest, it's a bit over dramatic.

    If your father was born in the U.S, he is automatically a citizen here. There was nothing for him to apply for, it's his birthright.

    Get married and apply for spouse visa. There is no appealing a denied fiancé visa.

    You were NEVER legally married to your current "wife" because you were not legally divorced when you married her. You can't divorced someone you're not legally married to. You need to marry her legally.

    She was adopted by another family member. You're not legal siblings for the benefit of immigration. Even if that weren't the case, there's a good 25-30 year waiting time for siblings. Easily.

    She said in her original post that she is ill and gets money from the state, so that means she's probably not working at the moment. My brother in-law lives in Amsterdam and he ,too, is ill and unable to work right now, and I know that his rent is 100% paid for by the state because of his illness and he gets money every month for food and living expenses, plus free healthcare. I could be wrong, but that would be my guess.

    This information is 100% incorrect. I know you're just trying to help, but answering a question when you're not sure of the answer can 100% be devastating for the person asking for the help. In this case, there are three options: They fly here in May before their visas expire and stay for good, they fly here and activate their visas, return home and come back permanently in September, or they allow their visas to expire and then they'll have to start from the very beginning again.

    What are you not understanding? Your parent CANNOT enter the U.S using a visitor visa with the INTENT to STAY and adjust status!!! It is visa FRAUD and will result in a lifetime ban for your parent. It's a big fat no. Your ONLY option is consular processing. Period. End of story.
