Why ask for advice and then attack everyone who is trying to help? It isn't our fault that you did not understand what you were supposed to do, or that you asked the wrong question. And it's especially not our fault that doctors charge what they charge or that we don't have a specific list of civil surgeons and their exact fees.

I-130 for Parent (Split)
Cathi replied to Tamasiane Levarit's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Working in the U.S in any capacity while here with a visitor visa, is illegal. Remote work COUNTS! -
Not true, just do a little research on this site and you will see many who were denied for less. Just because you were approved, does not mean they will be. You just didn't get caught.

You can try to explain it away all you want but if it looks like ANYTHING at ALL like a wedding ceremony, registered or not, you can very well be denied. We have seen it happen many, many times in the past. Too many times to count. It is not a risk I would be willing to take. Just get married and file an I-130 for a spousal visa. It's far less expensive, spouse gets green card when entering the U.S, so no waiting to work or leave the country and the processing times are virtually the same.

Getting GC as insurance question
Cathi replied to mari04's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
A green card is for living in the U.S only, not visiting and staying for "weeks". No such thing as a "maintenance" visit. She either visits with her visitor visa OR she gets a green card and LIVES and STAYS in the U.S. There is no in-between. Period. End of story. -
Possible deportation?
Cathi replied to Skip2019's topic in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
He can get the biggest and best immigration lawyers known to man, and you will still not lose your green card. You had to prove a bonafide relationship/marriage in order to come here and just because you've strayed, does not mean your relationship with him was not real. He'll just be wasting time, and lots of money, trying to have you deported.. -
Denied at interview
Cathi replied to Beverly56's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
It was well over a decade ago and at the time, it was encouraged that the petitioner go to the interview if possible. We didn't have a Stokes interview, we we never separated, the CO merely asked a few general questions. -
Looking for affordable K1 visa lawyer
Cathi replied to Willybeans23's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
A lawyer is a waste of time, money and aggravation- unless you have a difficult case. -
Valid Expedite Request

Doubtful. The hardship must be on you, not her. -

Who told you this? I don't remember that being a question on the form at all. -
First time entering the US after CR1 approved
Cathi replied to JRoo's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
You can fly/enter at any U.S POE. You'll automatically get GC after paying the fee. -
Don't feel like an idiot, that's why this site exists. Better to ask for advice than to get it wrong and regret it later.

K1 letter action tends to deny
Cathi replied to Rasha alk's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
Having colitis does not prevent someone from traveling, let alone not meeting someone for over 10 years. There are medications that treat colitis very successfully. It's a fact. My son has colitis and there has never been a time in his 26 years of life that colitis ever prevented him from traveling, and we travel VERY often (at least 3 or 4 times a year), including internationally. We just traveled to Europe this summer for an entire month and we just came back from Bermuda less than a week ago, he had zero issues that taking his meds couldn't handle. Not only does he travel all of the time, he's an athlete who's played soccer since childhood, including high school and college, he skis, hikes, rock climbs, runs marathons, races cars, scuba dives and has his pilot's license, I could go on and on and on. All while living with colitis. Is he on a special diet to control his colitis? Absolutely. Does having colitis sometimes interfere with things? Sure, but never enough to put his life on hold for any extended amount of time, let alone for an entire decade. You are looking for excuses and grasping at straws. Even IF it was a disease that prevents travel (it doesn't), why on Earth would you ever expect to get approved after having not seen your fiancé for an entire decade? No lawyer is ever going to get around that fact. Any lawyer from Catholic Charities is free of charge and most likely knows little, if anything about immigration. Any immigration attorney would have told you straight up that you had no chance. -
Clarification abt immigration entry (Merged Threads)
Cathi replied to Mzk279's topic in Tourist Visas
Just because you have strong ties to Bahrain, does not equal a b1/b2 to the U.S. You're an Indian citizen, India is one of the most difficult countries to obtain a visitor visa from, it's based on you citizenship. You can thank those from your country who have gone before you and abused their visitor visas, for that. No one can answer whether or not you'll have an interview, it's on a case by case basis. -
Random question about 90 day fiance
Cathi replied to nautilus6122's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
If you don't like the free expert advice here, feel free to hire an expensive attorney who will tell you exactly the same. Seriously dude. -
Immigration lawyers don't hang around this site giving free advice.

I'm with everyone else, fly back ASAP, don't do pre-clearance. You have a 10 year green card and you've only been out 10 months, they chances of being rejected on U.S soil are unlikely. Bring records of mom's illness and death, just in case. Sorry for your loss.

To live 6 months here
Cathi replied to Phillipines's topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration
Using a tourist visa to essentially live here, is visa fraud.
