I had my interview scheduled today on August 24, 2020. Interview took about 30 minutes for everything including the wait time for decision making and printing the certificate. I was approved and had my oath ceremony on the spot with my citizenship certificate in my hand.
My journey has come to an end, I wish you all best of luck.

    Thank you.
Two of my friends had also applied back in September 2019 and both of them had their interviews before me, they are already US citizens now. I guess it just depends on our luck and also the state where you filed. My friends had filed in Louisiana and New York. Ohio has had even shorter processing times like two months.
If you have decided not to go, just make sure that you have a cancelation notice either in mail or posted on your online portal (just as a proof of cancelation). When mine was canceled, I had not received a notice and I had called USCIS; the operator told me it was still scheduled but about 4 days later, I received the cancelation notice.

Musashii got a reaction from gradanalyticstude in Which Birth Certificate is acceptable?
I received RFE for Birth Certificate despite sending in the Original one which is computerized and in English.
NVC has rejected it again and the Customer Service Representative will not let me talk to a supervisor and keeps saying I need to send one in native language which is Urdu.
Now, they do not issue ones in Urdu anymore but only the bilingual ones (English & Urdu) on same page which is by NADRA, Pakistan.
So, if I send in that bilingual one, will it be acceptable? Any other Pakistani had this experience? I also asked if there was any way I could get the bilingual one and bring it with me to interview and if they could just forward my case to the embassy anyway upon which the CSR guy said, you can write to us that you are unable to provide the requested document and will will have to close your case anyway.

They already have the originals as you submitted. You do not need to bring anything else but maybe the photocopies of what you have already sent.
As the other members suggested, do not overthink as it will only add to confusion.
Rejection or approval depends on how you answer the questions at the time of interview. They may also return the originals to you after interview because they returned mine to me, except your passport of course. They keep the passport to affix visa on it.
Relax and prepare for your interview, do not mail them anymore.
    All the best.

If 5 months average time frame is not accurate, USCIS needs to change it on their website. If it takes 9-12 months for them to process I-130 then why are so many other I-130 petitions getting processed in 4-5 months? Mind you, I am talking about normal petitions and not DCF.
I am aware of the long AP for MENA males but that comes later. My complaint is about delay in processing outside the stipulated and mentioned time. Fine I-130 takes that long, I have filed for K3 too which should not take 9-12 months.

This contact them in 6 months is garbage in my opinion. There are folks on this forum who have waited much longer!! The US Department of State certainly needs to do something about the abusive use of Administrative Processing for Pakistani families. It is shocking that there is absolutely nothing we can do to get a expedited decision.

    1. What guidelines are they talking about and where to find the guidelines?
    2. She was never even asked to provide any evidence regarding the expedite request. How can they just deny the request without even asking or viewing the evidence?
    3. Does it mean a straight denial of expedite request off the bat? or is there a chance that "IF" we somehow find and meet the expedite guidelines, we can request an expedite again?
    4. Since no evidence was ever requested by USCIS, can we send an e-mail to DHS Ombudsman to seek a solution?

We sent our petition to USCIS in Jan 2011 so Jan 2014 will make it 3 years struggling with this broken immigration system (9 months in AP). While I do pray and hope that the AP is over soon and they issue us visas but at the same time the realist in me says I shall cut my loss and let my wife come to me.
    1. When our cases were with USCIS, We could at least contact congressman who could do more than just sending inquiries on our behalf. There was another department to oversee things on top of USCIS.
    2. So after making us wait for an indefinite period of time during which we may be required to submit medical, police certificate and fresh tax papers, embassy may decide to decline your visa.
    3. Then you wait and wait for them to send your case back (like EAbbas is waiting) and there is no telling when it will happen.
    4. Tired of waiting? You could afford a lawyer and filed a writ of Mandamus. They return your file, you file NOIR and win. They put you in AP again. Once again, same #######. They can rinse and repeat this process over and over and there is nothing you can do about it, nobody you can complain to. Even Whitehouse will serve you same ####### in different wrapper.
So just keep waiting and waiting?
Maybe if we can file a petition at congress website (SoccerPlayer did that but the language was poor sorry to say), and if we can get 2,500 people to sign it, only then congress will recognize it as an issue. Whether they will do anything about it or not is another story but they will consider it worth talking about.
So anyone going to file that petition in proper language, keeping it to the point? And most of us have friends on Facebook. We could request them and other communities on social media sites to sign that petition in hope to get 2500 votes.

We, including myself, have been waiting for one another to start a petition. I know someone suggested that Mushashi do it (as he brought up the idea) but it seems unfair to dump it all on one person. That being said, here is my attempt at writing something close to a petition. I took the second paragraph from something Virgo posted in the other thread (plagiarism, yes). I couldn't find a way to paraphrase it as it echoed my exact sentiments. Can someone else do it?
My second concern is providing signatures for the petition. I'm afraid of giving my and my loved ones information on the Internet. Mushashi suggested that we would need 2500 signatures to grab the attention of a congressman. Is there a site for that? I found the "We The People" section on the White House website (https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petitions) but it requires 100,000 signatures which seems....unrealistic? So any one have ideas of a legit site/way to do this?
    ........
Administrative processing is a term used to describe a visa application that has been set aside for further review by the embassy. Most administrative processing cases are resolved within 60 days after interview. However, the majority of the applicants in the Islamabad embassy of Pakistan have been waiting for months and years to get a response. During this long waiting period, the petitioner and beneficiary go through pain and suffer as there is no time frame, access to any information, or deadlines.
While the reasons of establishing such procedure is understandable, it seems inhumane to put people in the prison of time just because they want to travel to the United States-- mostly to add to economic or/and intellectual growth of the nation. It is thus evident that the US government, especially in the context of this problem, is yet to realize the delicate balance between securing borders and opening doors.
Please bring some transparency in this process to expedite it. Provide a clear explanation to the candidates that are put under admin processing. Give deadline as to when the visa will be issued along with access to more information.
    .....
    Any suggestions?

This sounds really good. I like it how you keep it simple and to the point. I also think now is the best chance to grab congress's attention as they just passed the immigration reform for illegal immigrants. They make take interest in this matter as well. I'm currently pregnant with twins due in 5 days but I'm willing to help in anyway I can. I also believe we can get signatures by posting the link on Facebook. Does it have to be 100,000?

So just checked out the link and I believe the best thing to do would be to post the petition and then create a Facebook page where we can post our stories for people to read and request our friends etc to sign the petition. InshAllah we can do this.

Your parents have 65 years together because your dad probably did not date another girl and was not planning to divorce his wife (your mother) for another woman.
I am not Christian so I do not exactly remember the words of solemnization at weddings however what I have seen in movies, those vows also include that the couple will remain faithful to each other. Are you forgetting that part? Her husband in this case is kind of cheating on her with another girl.
All I know is what Saylin has shared with us here. We do not know her husband's story. But if what Saylin has stated is true, then she needs to do something about it and not just suffer for rest of her life just for the sake of some vows.
Btw, I never heard anything like "would never get divorced" but "till death do us part" part and being cheated on is not less than dying.

Your understanding is incorrect. A joint sponsor must qualify based on their own household size plus the intending immigrant. Do not include the petitioner in the joint sponsor's household size. Only household members can combine income. For example if the joint sponsor's spouse has an income, they can combine their income to qualify.

my understanding of the AOS and joint sponsors is that it is a combined of petitioner and joint sponsor tax returns to show above the 125% poverty level.
co sponsor is someone who will make help to you if need be.
just like me, just in case i need a new AOS i have a co sponsor ready just in case because my tax return last yr only showed about $15,000.00 for the yr 2012 and i have some savings but my co sponsor if needed has over $30,000.00 for his tax return.
they want to make sure that if the person comes, there will be enough resources available for them to live off of instead of living off the government.
i hope this helps and others will correct if i am wrong.
i looked in USCSI website and i stil find only this.

@MX65- I think I understand what you are talking about. I had a similar situation with my mom, a little different. My mom had the Citizenship interview, and I went with her. After asking her all the questions, at the end they asked "Was everything you said is true and accurate to your knowledge". My mom said no by accident, she was nervous. The interviewer didnt even wait for split of a second, and denied her. Of course, she got the citizenship on the next interview. Anyway, I just want to bring this to everyone's attention that some of these Immigration officers are not there to help you. They look for every loophole possible to deny you.

When it comes to UC and government department like this, even if you have all the required papers and you have the legal right to get the document you need, you will not get it because you still have not provided them the "required paper". Remember the founder of Pakistan?
Also, you have not filled any information in your Timeline. Mind spending few minutes to fill it in? Thanks.

If I were a poliitician in my country, trust me I would not even need any expedite. I could simply ask for a political asylum or would have made $50,0000 or more easily by corruption easily to get a business visa under treaty country with a processing time of 2 months.
