  1. Thanks, Looky! Yes, I got the same impression that the NVC rep was happy to give good news. From reading a number of other posts on VJ--where petitioners are having difficulty with speaking to someone at NVC/getting definitive answers, NVC losing paperwork, or losing track of paperwork, etcereta, etcetera--it must feel good for NVC to give out good news!! That is part of why I related my good experience with NVC here--to try to give some more equal time to the positive experiences on this "fascinating," :) sometimes glitch-prone, --and sometimes very bizarre  --visa journey!! --RK

This is true, RK. Even though we stayed stuck at NVC for almost 1 month from the date of NOA2, and it was driving me crazy, when we did get the reply from the inquiry (through email), they were very helpful and nice. Same on the phone, the lady who told Matt our case # was excited to give out the good news, and she made sure to tell him everything he'd need before he hung up the phone to come back to skype yelling that we got it lol

I also gotta add the fact that, DOS, all of the operators that I talked to, were VERY helpful and sympathic. The one who told me my interview date, hearing me almost crying, excited and not even breathing straight anymore (LOL) laughed some with (or at) me, and even said congrats!

Depending on the time you call them, it's hard to get ahold of an operator because too many people calling, but early in the morning (DOS), when they first open, and late in the night (NVC)are the best times. I'm just glad I'm done with it, just waiting for the interview to come and rock on!

  2. I have the best lawyer ever, it's called Visa Journey and the cost it's $0000!

No, really.. before we sent the package, we made a long research and found this website, did everything on our own and followed the very helpful tips and examples here. No RFE's, we were approved within a little over 3 months under Vermont and now waiting for the interview to come! Everything was easy and smooth so far, and we are very thankful for VJ.

If you don't want to pay the lawyer anymore, you should be fine doing the right research and with the advices/tips here, many others did it! Good luck!

  3. Hello. I have another question. I'm trying to wrap things up in time so that when I finally fly to my fiancee's country to attend the interview, I'll be well finished and complete.

I turn out to be, alone, just above the 125% above poverty level. I'm planning to have my dad joint sponsor on the I-134 Affidavit of support form. For this, do I just need him to fill one out, for the same person (Carolina) just as if he was sponsoring her alone? So we'd have one from me, sponsoring her, than one from him... if that's the answer. Any light on this is appreciated.

Also, in the part where it says "relation to sponsor" I'm putting fiance, obviously lol. Will my father need to put "future father in law"?

He is self-employed. I can get his tax stuff, even transcripts, as I've already done with my own.

If anyone could give a full explanation, I'd be more than thankful!

If anyone can just answer my questions, thanks!

    Matt

  4. thanks ... i really dont know a lot about how to use this site.. but yes.. feb 18 i got my noa1,, and they just said to wait cause is in order, thats imppossible.. april filer are already done with noa2... :/ tomorrow ill go to the congress man.. :s

ooh, but your timeline is august, you can edit it, and change it to February. I hope your meeting tomorrow helps you with the process, good luck!

  5. Transcripts eliminate the need for the w-2s.

Addres the letter to the US Consulate in the city and country where you have your interview and we stated "To Whom It May Concern" It really is not too crucial. "Dear Consulate Officer" would also work.

Thanks for your reply. I might as well ask YOU too... another question lol sorry. I forgot about this. I need more clarification for the I-134 affidavit of support. My father is going to help co-sponsor or joint sponsor. What's the best way to do that? and what will he need for his taxes? Thanks

  6. So... I have the tax transcripts... 2010, 2009, and 2008. Do the transcripts bypass the w2's and other forms? Or do i still need those? I also need to know how the employment letter, letter from employer should start.... How to address it? how to start off the letter? Dear officer? Dear Consul? Dear consulate? Please help, Thanks!

    Matt

  8. Interview date for!!! OCTOBER 4TH! ... well, I thought it could take longer, but I'm glad it is not too far, time will go fast, and I'll have 2 countdowns now.. one for the interview and other to see my baby!!!! He's coming for the interview and to take me home with him!!! Ahhh feels great to not be in limbo anymore.. now I can relax and get everything together! THIS IS GREAT! Sooo thankful for DOS, the guy and the lady who talked to me were soooo nice!!!

I'm wishing good luck to all my people here!

  9. Yes thats amazing Jan, but it kind of freaky that they didn't get you the NOA2 letter. I would post this in the main forum, I've heard its not easy and expensive to get them to send a second NOA2 letter. So you need to make them realize they screwed up and need to send you that NOA2.

I mean if you got a case # you were probably approved at least a month+ ago which means they wasted a month where you could have been trying to get all the documents and paperwork done.

    Good Luck! :dance::dance::dance:

For real, but if it was their mistake they could send it for free, not charging, idk.. they gotta talk to USCIS, even scan this letter from NVC to them.. damn, all this headache, all this time and they were approved! awesome!!!

I hope the same happens to Nema!

  10. Same boat here Carolina! They got the package on Friday and they haven't still logged it in..what da hell. I sent them an email yesterday and tomorrow I'm gonna send them a fax too together with a copy of the NVC letter. The frustrating thing is that I have packet3 ready to be faxed since last week. . .but I agree that this week is the week! I feel that too

@Zara,I'm very happy for you! you're gonna fly there soon? :)

Damn Max, this s*cks! Seriously, what's wrong? Is it too complicated to just put the petition in the system? Come on! If they want, I can go there and do that for them!!!! :bonk: Ok, I don't expect them to rush like crazy and do it in less than 24 hours, BUT! 2 days already, what are they doing with it there? Looking how pretty our pictures are?:huh: Anyway, I hope you hear some good news soon, I don't even need a packet 3, JUST the interview date and packet 4 in the mail... nothing else, shouldn't be that hard...

Guess Geor it's in the same BS boat lol Good luck to us all!
