US Immigration from United Kingdom

Hello guys,

There s been no cases processed since Thursday. I thought it was odd so I checked USCIS website and it says the California office is closed from March 15th due to facility issues until further notice.

Does anyone have more information on this?

I really hope they reopen Monday and we aren t all delayed for weeks

I am from UK, we filed recently concurrent i-130 and i-485. My partner is a US citizen and we have been married for a bit over a year. What section of these forums are best fit for me/my questions? They recently cashed our cheques but have not sent a notice that it has been received yet (is the g-1145 for when they have received it or for when it has been approved?)

This is probably a stupid question, but I've confused myself. My husband has a conditional green card and we reside in the US. We are both over 50 so no children from this marriage.

Do we need to submit fingerprints and photos with the I-751?

Next month I will finally get to marry my fianc e in the US.

Following the marriage, we will apply to adjust my status so that I can apply for my EAD, Advance parole and eventually obtain my Green Card.

Our attorney has advised utlising the advanced parole to travel if/when issued due to risk of not being re-admitted to US on arrivial. At most, I would need to travel back to UK or South Africa for approx. 2-3 weeks max possibly once or twice whilst awaiting Green Card. Elderly and sick family members would find it hard to travel to visit me in USA during the period of me waiting to AOS.

I understand that re-entry to USA is not guaranteed, however I would be conscious of sticking to all appointments arranged by USCIS and all paperwork in order etc

Has anybody had/heard of any adverse experiences when using advance parole, and been denied re-entry at US port?

From what I have read so dar, majority of people who have travelled for a short stint have returned to US with no problems.

Any advice given would be much welcomed.

Hi! Wondering if anyone can help with this question of income from a university during graduate school. I'm filing i-485 for AOS from F1 (STEM OPT) to marriage based greencard. Should I put my PhD institute as an employer during the past 5 years, since I received a monthly income from them? I only got an EAD when I started a Postdoc position 1.5 years ago, so I don't want to raise any red flags by 'working' outside an EAD, but similarly I don't want to claim I wasn't making money when I have filed W2s each year.

Has anyone been in a similar position?
