I ve never posted in a forum before, so please bear with me everyone. I moved to the US on a K-1 visa in July 2019, applied for adjustment of status in September 2019. I never applied for EAD or AP, but I received my conditional Green Card in December 2020. During this time my husband has became more and more controlling, Im not allowed to go outside the house or go anywhere without him. Im not allowed to have friends or work. I m not allowed to drive, get a car or my own bank account. He controls all the finances, and if I need something I have to ask him for it. He works from home so I never have a moment to myself, he basically holds me hostage. He s drunk and high pretty much every day and he becomes very aggressive. He s violent and he also has guns in the house. He threatens to send me back to where I came from all the time. So out of fear for him and his threats I ve never called the cops or filed a police report. In the past he forced me to sign a prenup against my will, he basically said he will make me homeless or call immigration on me if I didn t sign it. I know a little bit about the VAWA, but not enough. If I would go that route would it mean that my immigration process would start all over again? And would I be able to apply for the VAWA while still being married or do I have to be divorce? I don t know where else to turn or who I should ask so I m hoping for some advice on what to do in this situation. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long read.

We applied for AOS in June 2021. I know that it can take longer to have your interview scheduled. The reason why I'm wondering about this is because I'm subscribed to e-mails about timelines similar to my own and have seen a few others belonging to my field office (Chicago) that either applied later than me or had their biometrics taken later than me that have had interviews scheduled. This makes me wonder a little bit about why mine is taking longer and why that could be. I have the EAD combo card already, so I'm not feeling stressed or worried about waiting in itself, just that others within the same field office have been scheduled and not me. Would that be a reason to be worried? Is this common?

We were about to file my wife's N400 application online, but it appears that we must reside in our current residence 90 days before she may apply. Not a huge problem, but we just relocated back in December 2021 due to my job and must wait a month to file the N400. Has anyone else run into this?

Hi guys, I have 1 brother (married with 2 children) and 1 sister (divorced with 2 children). I'm wanting to do a petition for them but I'm not sure which route is better and fastest: 1. Do only a petition for my brother and sister that's it. And let them petition for their spouse children etc etc once they get approved 2. Do a petition for ALL OF THEM I prefer doing # 1 cause it will be much easier with paperwork etc. What do you guys think? Thank you so much!

My fianc and I are in the process of deciding which visa we should choose for our situation. My fianc is from Sweden and she has been in the US since December of 2021. This is our second time meeting in person and we are recently engaged (only a few weeks). We are both dreading the wait of the time it will take to get her back to the states and are juggling our options, specifically the K1 visa and CR1 visa. We're both 22 years old and have no criminal records. Our biggest concern is being apart from each other for a long time although we know this is inevitable. We have been getting a lot of different opinions about the amount of time is takes from applying, to her getting into the states from multiple sources and it has caused a lot of confusion. We are looking for input/advice on which one we should choose and which one would take the least amount of time. Thanks,
