  1. My mother (has greencard) is filing an I-130 for her daughter who is "unmarried and over 21" online. But since my mom is in CAli, I'm assuming this application will go to the California service center which is reported to be super slow. I was thinking about asking her to print the forms out and send them to the Nebraska center. Does anyone know for certainty if they allow it? Thanks a lot!
  2. Well he did start the petition for her a year ago. But there's been no response at all yet so there's no initial response. He paid for it but if I can do my application instead, he will terminate/cancel his. Thanks for the help btw!!
  3. My son petitioned for me and his father. Me and my husband were given greencards 10 months ago.
  4. My son petitioned for me and his father. We were given greencards 10 months ago.
  5. Hello, I've got some conflicting information and not sure what to do. I am (70 years old) a US greencard holder (eligible for citizenship in more than 4 years) and trying to do a petition for my daughter who is 44 years old and lives in Sweden. She is divorced and has 2 children. Due to a bad situation with her ex husband, she & I will NOT bring her 2 children (age 10 and 12) to the states. The petition will ONLY be for my daughter. Question 1: Can I still petition for her despite her being divorced and/or having 2 children? Question 2: I currently do not have any income. Can my son be solely on the affidavit of support? Question 3: If answer to Q 2 above is Yes, does my income need to match and be enough NOW when starting the application? Or in few years? Thank you so much!!!
  6. Hi guys, I'm in LA and petitioned for my sister 7 ago who lives in Sweden (she's 44, unmarried and has 2 children below 13 years old). My parents have greencards and have 4 years to go before they get their citizenship. QUESTION 1: I was told it MIGHT be possible to bring her faster if my parents do a petition for her as well. Does anyone know if that is true? I seriously do not understand what the heck is said in this page: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html QUESTION 2: My dad is 80 my mom 72 they don't feel they would even be alive 10 more years. What happens to an application if the person who did the petition passes away? Obviously I can't take over am I right? QUESTION 3: Since my parents combined don't qualify for the minimum requirement income, can I my self add as dependent ? It states: "You may count the income and assets of members of your household who are related to you by birth, marriage, or adoption." in https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-processes-and-procedures/affidavit-of-support I read online but can't figure out how much I need to have as final tax return amount I mean let's say my parents income are both $0 is it possible to calculate how much I need to make in order to be dependent on my parents petition for my sister? If you don't know answer to both I appreciate any answer at all. Thank you so much!!!!!!!!
  7. Hi guys.. I read it online that u have to wait at least 6 months... but, I'm glad it was wrong... Thank you every one of you who responded. Really makes me feel better!
  8. My parents came in to US june 14th and they got their greencards in the mail 1 month later. Though the card says residents since June 14th this year. They wanted to go back to Sweden and stay for 32 days to pick up some more of their stuff leaving Dec 14th. Meaning they will leave on the day where it would have been in US for 6 months. Is this ok? I'm worried they might be denied entry for some reason. I might jsut be be paranoid but I heard it's best to stay for a while before traveling. Though 1 month is not thaaat long, considering they are new greencard holders it might be a bit of an issue? Any advice? Thank you so much!!!
  9. First of all, thank you guys for helping me because I would not have been able to do this without ya'll. My parents just got their IR5 visa on their swedish passports and I booked us all 3 one way tickets to USA. Question 1 - Greencard: I'm a bit stuck on how they will get their actual greencard. Someone here told me it's sent out automatically? Online I read I have to pay an immigration fee. Is that the DS-260? I just have no idea what to do and how to find out if I should pay in advance or not. I mean I'm sure it won't be automatic and I have to submit some type of application? Obviously I would like to get things done sooner. Question 2 - Address for GC If the greencard is being shipped somewhere, does anyone have a clue on how I can update the address or find out where it's going? They closed phone support to 603-334-0700 :( Question 3 - Social Security card: My goal is to establish good credit score for both my parents. Not sure which of the 2 options below are more benefical Should I apply for a social security card for my parents before they get their greencards? Or prior? Question 4 - Bank account: My goal is to establish good credit score for both my parents. Not sure which of the 2 options below are more benefical Should I open up a debit bank account for my parents as soon as we get there? Or is it better to do it after getting a social security card and/or their greencards? Please let me know even if you don't know the answer to all 3. Thank you so much !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
