Changing surname

My wife had submitted her I-751 form last week in hopes of attaining her IR-1 green card. When we were married, her maiden name was put on the marriage certificate due to local ordinance. Therefore, when I applied for her CR-1 visa, I had to put this name on the application. She would like to change her surname to match mine. Is there a process or form by which we could do this in conjunction with her I-751? Any help is appreciated.

N400 and unable to get a record of a 15 years old municipal fine

N-400 filed (5yr)

Back in 2005, I got a fine in city of Philadelphia for putting the trash out 45 minutes before the allotted time. I paid it promptly ($25) and forgot about it.

When filing for a GC, I asked my lawyer if I need to mention it. He said "You do". I mentioned it an I-485, got no RFEs, got approved without an interview (EB-2).

Now, when filing N-400 I mentioned this minor fine at where you have to mention all the criminal record.

Now, I realized I have no documentation whatsoever for this fine.
I threw away original citation (was stupid back then).

I paid by the check, just called my bank they have discarded check copies long ago.

I called City of Philadelphia Street's department, and they do not have any violation reported on that date on this or neighboring blocks.

When I asked the clerk over the phone as whether they can give me a certified answer that no records are available, they said "they do not think it is possible"
Only "document" that I have is a photocopy of my hand-written check registry with the date and the check payed to "City of Philadelphia"

What do I do? How do I document it for the naturalization interview? Besides this one, I have just 2 minor traffic tickets from long ago - 1 paid and 1 dismissed. Am I sweating too much?

Changing Last Name with I-751

Hello all, It's been a minute since I've posted a message but I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe and healthy.

I just was starting to look into this paperwork for the removal of conditions for my wifes greencard. When we went through the entire process before with her K1 then AOS we never changed her last name because of how confusing all the process was. But now we are looking into it and it seems it will be cheaper just changing her last name during the Removal of conditions process.

My question is, do we change her last name legally through the state of Alabama first. Meaning drivers license change etc. Then file the I-751 with her new last name. Or do we file it under her maiden name and also submit the i90 form? I'm a bit confused on this but I'm sure it's not the first time this has happened to someone. I appreciate the help!

Hi All,

Apologies if a similar question has already been asked before

We're planning to file for K-1 visa while my fianc e and I live together in Russia and when the visa is granted move to the US. I'm going to fill up the 129f petition and send to Dallas lockbox within DHL international mailing

My question is the application asks to write the address in the US my fiancee intents to live but we don't have the exact address right now and are going start looking for a place right before we leave. What's the recommendation in this case? Can I just write UNKNOWN and add explanation in the addendum.

P.S. if anyone has any tips about filing from abroad, it'd be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

ESTA question

Hi everyone!

My mom and her husband (mom is a dual French / Russian citizen, husband is just a French citizen by birth) want to visit my husband and I in the US.

She's been to the US many times before (both to visit me and her friends from long time ago) and always had a tourist visa as she was traveling as a Russian citizen at that time.

No overstays or unusually long trips. Obviously no criminal history. She actually won the DV Lottery ~9 years ago but never pursued it since she had already met her now husband then but has since visited the US with no issues.

This is going to be her first time applying for ESTA and I was wondering if her case is pretty straight-forward and easy or if there's something I'm missing.

She is in her 60s and her husband is in his 70s. Her husband is retired and I don't think he's traveled a whole lot outside of EU but my understanding is that it's pretty normal for French folks to travel once they retire :)

Thank you!
