Received message from NVC through CEAC portal. “Please submit every 2020 W-2/1099 form for Rick. “.
Rick is retired and the co-sponsor for the beneficiary. He only gets Social Security. We already submitted the 1099 form from Social Security along with tax transcripts for the last three years. All of these items show as submitted on the CEAC portal.   Rick has no W-2s.  On tax transcripts they can see he is  retired and only receives money from Social Security ,not a job.
Why are they asking us to submit “every 2020 W-2/1099”. When we already submitted everything  ??
Please any help is so appreciated!

Call them, and/or submit upload and submit a statement saying there are no W2's   Did you submit the SS award letter, showing current benefit, or just the 1099 from last year showing last year's benefit?

We just submitted 2020 1099 form for Social security benefits , plus 3 years of tax transcripts.

Then you've provided no evidence of current income.  Best to submit the current declaration letter for that.

If the documents don't exist, you have to upload a signed statement explaining why you can't provide them.

My wife's income was earned in the UK, so had no W2, which was obvious to see on the payslip uploads and addresses entered - but we still had an RFE and had to upload a signed statement to explain that her income was foreign earned, so there was no W2.

Very frustrating

Yea it seems the bureaucracy is so stupid. It’s just incredibly dumb!  And they should’ve asked us for this information a over a month ago at the beginning of December when they had asked us for information then! Why wait over a month to ask for more information. Also I’m sure on the I 864 form we even checked retired somewhere. I’ll go back and look.

Yes, it is their mistake, and you get to deal with it.  It is what it is.
