I don't know if i post here or in the NVC forum. but I filed for my two step children 16 and 9 to come to the US from the PH. got approved for the I-130 and it went to NVC. got the case numbers for both and paid the fees and did the D-260 paperwork and AOS paperwork last week. so i'm just waiting again.

my questions are :

how long is the general wait time for the paperwork approval and the time for the interview?

how long after the interview before we get the visas to come to the USA?

how much is the medical exam?

is there a way i can get the NVC to schedule both interviews at the same time?

Hey all,

I have uploaded/updated everything else that they documentarily qualified me for last year for the NVC stage since my wife's IR-1 interview is next week. My question is, would any Evidence of Relationship stuff be required to upload on CEAC as well? I had someone tell me on these forums that my daughter's CRBA would be good evidence since it has both mine and my wife's name on it. Would I upload something like that? Thank you!

True or False: CFO can require police clearance or FBI report for petitioner

Having a little panic attack because some of the FB groups that I am in, are saying beneficiaries are getting requested to provide a police clearance or FBI report of the petitioner (not the beneficiary) during their CFO/GCP seminar. We already purchased the flight and hotel to Manila (nearest CFO location) and it is too late/short-notice for me [petitioner] to get a police clearance/FBI report before the interview.

Curious, if anyone else has encountered this at all? It doesn't make sense because the I-129F has a section for criminal history and I would assume that would be part of the background check, but a lot of the K-1 process doesn't make sense...

N400 wait times

Hello everyone. Been a while for me on here. I have a questions for those of you who have recently acquired US citizenship and are Filipina.

1) We are ready to send in her N400. We would also like to go back to Phil. for about a month in mid April. If we sent the N400 in on Monday, 2/12/25, about how long would it be before we would hear back on anything?

Here's what we want to do: Our travel plans hinge on this and we had hoped to go visit our kids while we waited to hear from USCIS, but also don't want to be in the Philippines when they respond. I know it's not very likely that if we sent it in on 2/12, it's probably not going to get a response for several months after. Right???? Like maybe 6-9 months?? Do you think we'd be safe if we sent it in now (2/7/25) and booked flights for mid April thru May?

I trust all of you because you've been good to us over the years. Maybe give us examples of the wait time between mailing the N400 and when you first heard back on it?? It's not like we mail it on, say, April 10th, for example and hear back in like 3 weeks is it?? If we mailed it as I mentioned, on 2/12/25, about how long would it take t hear ANYTHING back on it. We want to make sure we're here and not in Phil.

I really appreciate everyone's answers if you respond. Maybe mention your experience if you did the N400 recently and mailed it. I told my wife I would ask all of you because we trust you all

Thanks a bunch gang.

Doug

Hello all,

My wife traveled to her home country, Philippines, for 2 months from 11/29/2024 - 1/27/2025. We are planning to file her N-400 but does her trip violate the 3-month residency requirement (NY)?

Thank you.
