Hi! I am a green card holder who have not worked for close to 6 years. I would like to ask if this would be a hindrance should I apply for US citizenship?

The following are my info: Pls note, I may be oversharing, but I would like to type in as much info I can that I think might affect my application for citizenship.

-green card holder based on marriage to a US citizen (conditions have been removed many years ago)

-I am on my 9th year of being a green card holder

-I do not and never received any government help

-I have worked for 3 years since I became an immigrant & have stopped working since then. It's a long story, pls don't judge. I have been unemployed for close to 6 years now

-My credit score is high 700s to 800

-I have no physical or mental disability

-I have divorced my 1st husband who sponsored me when I applied for my green card

-I have been married for 1 year and 2 mos to my second husband, also a US citizen & a federal employee

-I have no criminal records

-currently looking for employment

I had wanted to apply for citizenship, but I was too scared to do so during Trump's time because I haven't worked for a long time. I still am scared to do so because of reason I mentioned. I would like to seek opinions on how to go about my citizenship application. Or should I just renew my greencard?

Should I call the embassy?

I'm just wondering. I have been watching YouTube and keeping my eyes on things here. I realize that the president just recently lifted the proclamation for travel bans. Should I call the US embassy in the philippines about my case or would that even help. I ask this because a lawyer who I sent an email to told me to email or call the embassy right away and start annoying them. However, from the many messages I have seen on YouTube and here, it seems like trying to get in touch with the embassy is a waste of time. And this lawyer mentioned to let him know if I didn't hear back. Honestly, it just sounds like the lawyer is trying to find a way to make money from me because he didn't guarantee anything. But I am wondering if emailing the embassy in Manila would be a good idea or a waste of time.

221g for QJS, but beneficiary meets HHS limits

Help... I'm not sure what to do.

Husband was given 221g at his interview yesterday. The interviewer requested that he get a Qualified Joint Sponsor and resubmit i-864 via courier.

Manila, Philippines Embassy has had our case for over 12 months. I had requested an expedite at NVC level, due to a clerical error which caused delays at NVC stage. So, the case was forwarded from NVC for processing at Manila Embassy. I don't believe any processing was done at NVC stage.

I uploaded documents to CEAC last January 2020, which showed that 2019 income was foreign earned income (included evidence) and included a domestic offer letter for 2020 and current paystub that indicated salary would exceed HHS limits.

When he went to the interview, he took a NEW i-864 to represent our current financial situation as of Feb 2021. The interviewer skimmed the new i-864 and returned it.

2020 domestic income met the HHS i-864p guidelines (evidenced by W2 and 1040) and 2021 anticipated income will exceed this level (evidenced by offer letter and paystub). Cash assets are 4.5 times the HHS limit for household size (just shy of the 5x required for using assets alone-- but w2 meets HHS limits, so in theory, I shouldn't have had to use the assets qualifier.)

Either of the i-864s (Jan 2020 or Feb 2021) should have been sufficient to qualify, because both evidenced income with an offer letter and paystub indicating salary exceeded HHS limits. But, the Feb2021 i-864 included a domestic income for prior year, while the Jan2020 one had foreign income for preceding year.

As far as I'm aware we don't need a Qualified Joint Sponsor because the Petitioner meets the HHS income guidelines on the i-864p. I don't actually understand why we were given this 221g...

So what do I do? I don't have/don't want a joint sponsor.

I've emailed the embassy and left a message with their message service... but I'm not holding my breath for a reply. Manila Embassy has had our case for 12 months, and in that time they've only ever replied to 1 email (out of a dozen).

Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone! We are supposed to have our interview on March 17, 2020 but was canceled. I've been trying to reach the US embassy to reschedule but to no avail.

I am curious who among those who had canceled interviews from March 2020 to present (and were affected by the PP10014) already rescheduled or was issued a new interview date from the US embassy?

Let us update each other here.

Thanks!

Aloha. We just got our interview notice and schedule for my Green Card. My wife is my sponsor, and my Father in-law is my Co-sponsor. In the letter one thing we need to bring is the Form I-864. which say, "If required, a completed Form I-864, with all the the required evidence(unless already submitted.)", which we already submitted during our application.
My questions are :
1)My wife have a different Job now and different employer. Its not the same employer that we indicated in the form I-864 that we submitted. Do I need to do a new I-864?
2) Do I need to bring my wife's new paystub ?or the old one is good.

3) Do we need to inform the officer about the change of Job?

Thank you so much
