Hi! I'm 19 who came here through the petition of my dad when I was 17. We tried applying for my passport as soon as I got here, only to find out that my dad lost his naturalization certificate. We waited for a year to apply for another one and get his certificate. A month ago we finally received it and applied for my passport. Just received a letter this morning from the Department of State requesting for my parent's marriage certificate. The issue is, my mom and dad weren't married but I was acknowledged by my dad in my birth certificate. What do I do about this? Can anybody drop the number I should contact?

We just got our Interview Letter after almost 4 months of waiting after DQ. IR1 visa. Unfortunately my wife got the Sputnik vaccine, which is not WHO approved. So what should we do about that? Now we're planning the trip for my wife to visit Manila early, before 2 weeks before the interview. How much time should she schedule for that? Is 3 days enough? For example: Day 1: Fly to Manila, travel to hotel near SLEC, and sleep. (please make hotel recommendations, if you know) Day 2: go to appointment Day 3: go to rest of appointment to finish medical Day 3: Travel back to airport and Fly home to Cagayan de Oro. (is there time to do this, or should we plan for her to fly home on Day 4?)

Hi Everyone, I have a question. so last year the entire 2021 I do not have any SSN, but I did work and pay taxes to my home country. I moved to the US later the year 2021 and was still paying taxes at home. Now I have aSSN issued last March 2022. Does anyone know if paying separately should be done since technically I'm not employed here? Thanks in advance

I am wondering if other k1 visa applicants are experiencing this issue as well. I was going to hold off saying something but I felt this should be addressed. My filipina fiancee in the Philippines had her k1 visa interview back in April 7th. She was told that she had passed the interview but she needed to get an updated nbi and police clearance and submit them with her passport, which she did. She has not heard anything since then. As a matter of fact she doesn't even know that I'm asking about this on here and I haven't told her so she won't get upset. I have been checking her visa status on the ceac website and the status has been saying refused. I have done some research on this and it used to say administrative processing but I heard they stopped doing that. I have also read that the applicant should not panic or be concerned and the status would change to issu d after the documents requested had been approved. I am assuming that others are going through this as well and I am wondering if anyone has been changed to issued after the status had said refused. I am thinking that this is causing a lot of confusion and cencern. But it hasn't been 2 weeks yet. I am hoping to hear from anyone else who is going through this or recently has been through it.

Firstly, thanks to everyone who respond in this forum. I have learned SO MUCH and could not have got to this point without this forum's guidance. THANK YOU! My fiancee now has her K-1 interview appointment and we are starting to prepare for the last few steps of this process. She is telling me that I need to write an AOS letter and have it apostilled as well as getting an FBI background fingerprint document. I can't find these requirements in any of the official document requests, but I also know that sometimes the fates of would-be airplane passengers can be in the hands of an immigration officer that wants to see additional documents. Should I work on obtaining these documents or is she getting bad advice from her FB forums?
