US Immigration from Philippines

We are trying to submit the required I-130, I-130a documents to start the green card process. My wife has a birth certificate that s not very legible and went to her PSA office in the Philippines to see if they could make a typewritten copy of her original birth certificate. The problem is, both of her parents are deceased and her mother never had a birth certificate. They told her that it would take at least 6-8 months for her to get a late registration of birth for her mother and birth certificate for her, I believe. Is there a way to use her Passport until she gets her clear enough to read birth certificate? I was wondering if I should just submit the illegible birth certificate in the meantime? I was worried that we might get an RFE and they could give us only 1-3 months to get a better copy. Her mother was born quite 10+ hours bus ride away, then a ferry ride further and they don t have hardly cell service there as well.

Hi. I am completing the AOS form I-864 for my parents. I am having trouble downloading the form in the USCIS website. Anyone else experiencing this? Where can I download the form. Even the link on Visa Journey isn't working.

My filipina fiancee will officially have her k1 visa interview this coming Thursday in the Philippines. She pretty much has everything together. My lawyer's secretary is acting like she needs to have the form g 28 for the interview which I think is a load of #######. All that form states is that he is representing me and my fiance with the case. There is nothing that says this form has to be with the other documents at the interview. I have emailed the secretary and kindly suggested that she move faster with getting the form to us or otherwise we will proceed without it because it isn't necessary for the interview. Am I right to assume that? As I'm writing this I still don't have it and I'm not going to worry about it. I don't feel that it is necessary to print the g 28 out with the lawyer's signature because it isn't a required document for the interview. I am just making sure I am correct in saying this. This is for the k1 visa interview in the Philippines. She has all her other required documents.

Does anyone know how to find out where and when a previous K-1 visa petition was filed? I petitioned a lady to the US 12 or so years ago, had just lost a job and was moving at the time and can t seem to remember when or where I petitioned her from before. After a divorce in 2015 had destroyed all documents related. In 2019 decided to give it another try and am now trying to petition my current wife to the US. On the I-130 form it asks when and where the previous petition, if there was one, was filed? I tried calling in to the Uscis, but only get a machine and never through to a real person to talk with. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I am planning to apply for dual citizenship this year for me and my son, who s turning 18 this year. I was born in the Philippines and so is he, his biological dad is also Filipino.
I guess my question is, based on your experiences to those who are have dual citizenship, what are the pros and cons?
