We recvd I 797 from the I-130 petition stating it is approved after waiting exactly one year. Do we have to file an I-824 petition to bring the child here in the states who is currently living in P.I.? For a minor child I thought once the I -130 was approved that the ball would now be in Manila's embassy in que for interview for a visa but then I dont know much about all this red tape to submit. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Hello guys, I am planning on filing a CR-1 visa for my Filipina fianc later this year. My original plan was to marry her in August or September in the Philippines when I visit again. However, upon further research I see that the marriage process in the Philippines is rather lengthy and complicated. I have been recently informed about online marriage and that the USCIS recognizes them as being valid for CR-1. Specifically through the state of Utah. I am very skeptical about this process as it seems to go to be true. Does anyone have more insight on this? I understand that you can marry online now, but we would still have to wait until we meet again in person before we can file the CR-1. Is this a viable alternative for us instead of marrying in the Philippines? Also if anyone has other suggestions of alternatives we have instead of marrying in Philippines like alternative countries that would be great too. Thanks!

My wife and I are on the civil documents part of the NVC process. My wife is from and lives in the Philippines. At one point my wife lived and worked in Hong Kong for a little less than 8 months. She has never been arrested in her life. It was to my understanding that if she lived in any other country for at least a year she would have to provide a police clearance from that country. However on the civil documents section they are asking for a police clearance from HK. Is it ok to leave this section blank and explain that she has never been arrested or committed a crime in HK and she lived there less than 12 months? Anyone with experience on this subject out there?
