The last we heard rom our erstwhile hero. his K 1 file was sitting at the Manila Embassy waiting for an interview when he suddenly got lost in the Covid Zone. After languishing for over two years in the Covid Zone, our hero had one of those light bulb thought clouds appear, Great idea, said he. Our hero and his beloved got married in Aug 2021 in an online service that had already been recognize by the Philippine government. The logic was that according to the Feds literature, the fact that their I129F had been approved before their I 130 would make this a K 3 visa and his beloved would be allowed entry while the I 130 was being processed. Alas. this did not happen and heir I 130 processed normally. Not long after their case arrived at the NVC, a request to expedite was finally approved and the case sent to the Embassy. An interview was finally scheduled for Mar 22, 202 3. The interview went well but a 221g was issued. with outrageous demands. They wanted the birth certificates of all of her children who were not immigrating They also ante an ID issued prior to 2004. They wantwd a 2021 tax transcript. I do not have taxable income so do not file taxesye my income is enough to meet the requirements. They were hinting at a co sponsor. We submitted the req uired documents and were issued another 221g. Now they wanted a CENOMAR for both my beloved and the father of her children along with his birth certificate. Finally, just two weeks before I was scheduled to fly home, her visa was approved and arrived the next day. I was able to book her on my flight. Then up came the subject of the PDOS. We discovered she was exempt due to age but still hd to go through the GCP. Online registration indicated the first availability of Aug 1, after my flight home. My beloved was having none of this and we drove to Manila to discover she was able to do a walk in, same day registration. She got her certificate that day. I want to thank the staff of Oregon Congressman Cliff Bentz, who helped push me through all the B.S.

Hi, I married my Filipina finally, we have an appointment at the Manila US Embassy VA to enroll her into military benefits May 25th, and an appointment to apply for her US Passport at the Manila US Embassy on June 5th. While at the mall I was talking to a US Citizen who told me I could take my filipina wife to the states on a US Passport then send in the I-130 and I-130a applications from the US. I need some advice on this, he also said I would need to marry her again in the US. If anyone has information on bringing her to the US using her US Passport it would be greatly appreciated. I dont want to break any laws that would could enfringe on getting her visa processed. I have recieved good advice from VisaJourney members so far and appreciate all your help. We just finished getting her annulment decree through the system which only took us 5 months. Once I get through this process and have a better idea about it through my experience, I will be sharing my experiences and help answer questions. Thank you any information about taking her home on a US passport before turning in the I-130 application. Dan & Juliana Nora

So I was married in the Philippines in 2013. My wife divorced me 2 years ago. I am looking for an attorney to file a RECOGNITION OF FOREIGN DIVORCE. I found one in Manila but he wants 50k php as a retainer. That sounds a little pricey to me. Also, is the filing to be done in a regional court and would it be better to find an attorney in Cebu where we were married? Does anyone know of an attorney that is to be trusted? Please advise. Mahalo

Mabuhay Everyone! Sorry if this has been asked before. I couldn t find anything in the archives. Joan and I are going to the Philippines in June. This will be her first time returning as a dual US-Filipino citizen. We booked the flight using her US passport. Are there any special things we need to do? Does she present both passports at each step (TSA, security and the gate in the US, immigration in the Philippines, security and immigration leaving the Philippines and immigration when we return to the US?) I reached out to Philippine Airlines, but they could not answer my question. Salamat!
