Just a note of celebration! Wife's US Passport got here today, after 12 weeks and one day since they received it. Talk about timing! Her DL's was to expire today and could not renew without a Green card which they kept at the ceremony, and the certificate we had to send in for the Passport. Great timing!

Hello. We're now filing for the first step, but while doing the process. Just found our that in our Marriage Certificate, the residential address of my husband has some error. The town, City and State are correct yet the country was Philippines. Like 1234 Somewhere St. Jacsksonville Florida, General Santos Philippines. Will that detail be a problem? Thank you for your answers.

My income on the i-864 was way over the amount needed to sponsor my wife without a joint sponsor. I have military retirement (nontaxable CRSC), Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and VA 100% rating (nontaxable). Did I get this message because I don't have to file taxes and the only 1099 was for SSDI? I upload all the pay statements from all three sources. Should I just ignore it and press on. The income reported as stated on form I-864, I-864A is insufficient to overcome the public charge grounds of inadmissibility for visa issuance. To avoid delays, an additional Affidavit of Support Form I-864 from a joint sponsor may be submitted. For more information visit https://nvc.state.gov/aos and https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p. A consular officer will decide if you meet these requirements at the time of the interview. Note: You, as the sponsor, and any other sponsors household members and joint sponsors, must provide updated or additional evidence for the applicant to present at the time of their interview such as: * Other income * Assets * Proof of current employment Note: You submitted documentation to the National Visa Center through the Consular Electronic Application Center CEAC. You can continue to upload documents to CEAC up until the date of your visa interview.

Not sure if this is the right forum for this question. Asking for my friend, he is within the 90 day window to apply to get the conditions removed from his green card. He came here on a spouse visa and got a conditional green card. They are in the process of getting a divorce, but the divorce papers won t be finalized by the time he needs to submit his papers to uscis. Does he have to apply jointly with his wife? Or can he still file separately even though he doesn t have divorce proof yet?

How To Address Overstay & Deportation From Jordan? |

Hey all, A recent thread on deportation or removal from a country other than the United States recently caused me to rethink my wife s situation and how to approach it. She was removed from Jordan in 2018 for a 2-year overstay. She was arrested and held in jail there until she could either pay for her overstay or decide to go home. She eventually decided to go home. A year later, she went to Qatar, worked there for two years, and left with no problems. Which takes her to 2021, when she met me. We are waiting right now for her NVC welcome letter. We are going to answer truthfully on her 160 and attempt to get her PCC from Jordan. Being new to NVC and CEAC, I m wondering if writing an affidavit on the circumstances of her overstay is worthwhile? E.g., she was quite young when she worked there, she gave her boss the money for the residence card renewal but he did not renew it, she wasn t sure what she should do being young, first time away from home, in another country, etc. Likewise, she worked abroad subsequent to that experience, a little older, a little wiser, and a little more assertive. She left that country with no problems. On one hand, that s a lot of excuses. On the other hand, it s true explanation. Any experience or thoughts that might be helpful processing this? I don't even know if an unsolicited affidavit is acceptable, let alone the correct approach. Or where to attach it in CEAC. We probably should have attached as an unsolicited document at the USCIS petition phase, but the 130 pertained to U.S. removal, while the 160 asks about any country.
