Hello, It's been a while since I was on here. Hubby submitted his application for N400 (online) in March 2020....yes, you read that right in 2020, thanks to COVID it is now outside the normal processing time. He requested a status update and he was told he'll hear back by Sept 29......lo and behold we heard nothing... we managed to speak to a live person when we called 800-375-5283, and they told us to wait, and that there is nothing she can tell us at this time. The only thing we have received in the mail was back in January 2021, stating that he didn't need updated biometrics (we've traveled quite a bit since he got his GC in 2009),and they were going to use what they had in the system but of course they weren't going to refund us the biometrics fee I believe his case is at the NBC, but I can't seem to find the phone number for that. Would anyone here happen to have it? Also, anyone else having the same experience and have any advice of what we can do while we wait? Thankfully hubby's GC doesn't expire until Oct 2022, but it's a little disheartening seeing ppl who applied waaaaay after us getting interviews by the end of this year. Any and all advice is appreciated thanks! -Michelle

Hello all, So our K-1 Visa process has been difficult so far. NOA1 April 2020. Received our NOA2 in March 2021. In April 2021 our case was returned to the USCIS by the Dept of State. On July 6th 2021 our case was finally forwarded to the embassy in Panama by the NVC. We received our welcome package from the Panama Embassy and we were preparing our documents/scheduling an interview date. On July 15th 2021 we were informed our case was requested back by the NVC. Called the NVC and was told that the case was requested to be returned by the USCIS. I have requested to speak to a Tier 2 officer at the USCIS but am still awaiting a call back (deadline August 30th 2021). I spoke with the NVC today (August 16th 2021) and was told they still have our case and that it is undergoing "Administrative Processing" before it will likely be returned to the USCIS. Is any of this normal? What can we expect at this point? Our NOA2 has already expired, is that going to be an issue? Anything we can do at this point? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Feeling like we are getting nowhere. It is always one step forward, several steps back

Hi everyone, my wife and I filed for AOS a few months ago. We got a RFIE in the mail. Requesting a copy of her birth certificate. She s from Panama so her birth certificate is in Spanish. In that paper that the USCIS mailed us about the RFIE, it mentioned at the end of the 2 pages they sent me it said something about if you submit documents in any language other then English that we need to submit the original copy in the foreign language and a complete translation and that the translator needs to certify that the translation is complete and accurate and that he/she is competent to translate the paper to English. So does this mean that I need to take my wife s birth certificate to a certified translator to get it translated into English or can I just send the USCIS her birth certificate in Spanish????

Hello all, We received our NOA2 from USCIS on March 11th 2021, on April 15th we got notification from the NVC that our case was returned to USCIS after we had sent an inquiry about our case a couple weeks prior. No information as to why it was returned to USCIS. On April 22nd 2021 USCIS received the case and the current status says "Department of State Sent Case to USCIS For Review". We immediately sent an inquiry but have not heard back. Does anyone have any idea why the case would be sent back to USCIS? Would that indicate an issue with our case? Something we did or something USCIS got wrong? We would appreciate any insight if anyone has experienced something similar. Thanks, Colin
