My fiance was interviewed by a woman officer. She said she was very nice and polite. She asked him some questions that included: How did we meet, What are the names of my adult children, What countries had he visited, and Where did I work, to name a few. She also spoke to him in English. When he didn't understand her, she asked how we communicated and he replied that we both have been learning each other's languages. Because he had been to Venezuela on a diplomatic passport for university, she questioned why he wasn't made to gain residency in Venezuela. He had provided all the evidence he could. She said she intended to approve his request but needed to verify his time in Venezuela first. This took 3-4 days. He was first placed in the 'refused' status on the CEAC website. On May 27, 2025, it changed to 'approved'. On May 28, it changed to 'issued'. I'm sure his passport will be ready either May 29 or 30 because sending there has been fairly quick with others this year. His appointment... read complete review

Hello.
Overall the experience I had at the embassy was good. The previous reviews I´ve read from this embassy were accurate, also I´ve had some friends that had been thru the IV process at this embassy and they all have had a good experience. Totally different (not good) from when you go to the interview for a non IV, tourist for example.
This time around the embassy has a new process so I first had to go to the embassy to get my documents checked. before the interview date. I went with all the documents I uploaded to the CEAC in the NVC process.
My first appointment was at 1:00PM. I arrived early. At 1:00PM approximately they let us in and went thru security checks. They gave us a number and waited to be called by my number.
Once my number was called the person that was at the cubicle asked for my birth and marriage certificate, passport, photo, fingerprints and police record. Asked me a few questions and that's it, my doc... read complete review

Interview was at 2pm. I went with my fiancee to the interview. We arrived at 12:30pm and waited outside in line till 2:00pm before they let us walk to the embassy for the interview. Once inside, we gave the officer our KFTP and waited for my fiancees name to be called. The first time she was called up they just collected additional information like the police certificate and passport photos that we did not email them. The second time she was called up it was for the interview. The officer asked her about me and our families, basic relationship information. It was over in less than 15 minutes. We were told that we would have to wait to be approved till the medical forms came in then we would get the visa in 8-10 working days. We were approved after 1 week and now are waiting for the visa to be issued!
