Comments : As of January 2026:
1. Panamanian K1 applicants are required to attend the embassy for a document review on the first 2 Tuesdays of the month. This needs to happen after your medical exam.
2. K1 interviews happen on the 3rd Tuesday of the month.

Interview itself was simple as documents were presented and reviewed at the pre-interview document appointment. Interview was about 5 minutes long.
Beneficiary was asked:
1. What is the petitioner’s job?
2. What is the petitioner’s salary? (My fiancee couldn’t give an exact number because I recently got a raise, but offered to show the tax/bank statements and that seems to have been good enough.)
3. What is your (beneficiary’s) job and do you plan on doing that in the US?
4. Do you have any plans for a wedding? (venue, attendees, date/time)
Beneficiary was approved verbally on the spot and CEAC showed approval about 2 hours later. CEAC updated to issued 2 days later. Once issued, we received an email with DHL tracking about 6 hours later. Then, it was ready for pickup at DHL the next day.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
