  1. Update, about 2 weeks after this incident (hubby had an interview June 4, but the office closed due to a tropical storm coming in that day....which just turned out to be rain) and his new interview date was July 14 (Thursday) I'm happy to report he passed his interview and his Oat Ceremony was the next day July 15 (Friday) and that same day he applied for a passport and registered to vote. Thank God we are finally done with this process.

  3. Hubby had his citizenship interview scheduled for today (June 4) and when he got there there was a notice saying office was closed!, I'm assuming it was because of the tropical storm hitting us this week, but the notice didn't say anything about the reason for closure. In fact it wasn't even an official notice on a USCIS letter head, it was a piece of paper that said " THE USCIS OAKLAND PARK FIELD OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED ON SATURDAY, JUNE 4th" Honestly it's only been rain, no gusts of wind, nothing. I went to the website and they report that all offices are open. . What are we supposed to do now? To say we're upset is an understatement....
  4. Hello everyone, Hubby got a notice yesterday (april 22, 2022) in the mail....After 2 years and a month we finally got something from USCIS!! Thank God! Anyways, his interview/exam is scheduled for June 4, we had a few questions... 1. will I be able to go in with him to the interview(I'm the US citizen spouse)? or is it just the applicant? 2. In addition to the documents requested in the notice, does he need to bring any supplemental documentation (for example: birth certificates of our kids, mortgage bill, tax returns, pictures, etc)? 3. If the oath ceremony is for another day, can he have guests be there (myself and our boys)? We were very happy to know that we got assigned this office since it's 15 min from where we live. Thank you all for your inpuat and to those still waiting, Hold on! your time will come soon
  5. Thanks I guess?? I obviously know there is something wrong... for some reason my husbands file fell through the cracks....the purpose of the post was to see if anyone else had the same issue and if they could offer any advice...
  6. Hello, It's been a while since I was on here. Hubby submitted his application for N400 (online) in March 2020....yes, you read that right in 2020, thanks to COVID it is now outside the normal processing time. 🙄 He requested a status update and he was told he'll hear back by Sept 29......lo and behold we heard nothing... we managed to speak to a live person when we called 800-375-5283, and they told us to wait, and that there is nothing she can tell us at this time. The only thing we have received in the mail was back in January 2021, stating that he didn't need updated biometrics (we've traveled quite a bit since he got his GC in 2009),and they were going to use what they had in the system but of course they weren't going to refund us the biometrics fee 😅 I believe his case is at the NBC, but I can't seem to find the phone number for that. Would anyone here happen to have it? Also, anyone else having the same experience and have any advice of what we can do while we wait? Thankfully hubby's GC doesn't expire until Oct 2022, but it's a little disheartening seeing ppl who applied waaaaay after us getting interviews by the end of this year. Any and all advice is appreciated thanks!🤗 -Michelle
