US Immigration from Nigeria

Hello Guys,

So i had just done my Interview for my N-400 naturalization application and the interviewing officer asked if i had registered for the selective service when i got my first green card as i was in the age range to register when i got my first green card but unfortunately i didn't and haven't register till today.

Now i am 29 and i had gotten my first green card when i was 23 so now they want me to go get that before they can schedule me for swearing in i assume cos i asked the officer if i would go through another interview but she replied and said no that all they need is for me to send the registration confirmation from the selective service to their Baltimore office where my case is been processed and the rest will be taken care of. I never knew i had to do that immediately i get my first green card as i thought you can only do that when you become a citizen.

So now my question is are these people at the selective service going to have me registered or are they going to deny my request to join? I didn't do that intentionally as i do no know i had to do that cos now my naturalization is pending and i am in a state of dilemma right now. Please guys help with your advise or thoughts on this and what you think i should do to get my citizenship. I've been married for 7 years now and this is more like a long journey for me.

Hi all,

I am a citizen and I am about to start the process of inviting my parents from Nigeria . Other than the invitation letter and cover letter with my proof of citizenship, what else do I need to add ? I have seen all kinds of suggestions given but I believe a USC do not have the same requirements as GC holder base on this kind of application. Any input base on experience would be appreciated.

Please I really need advise regarding to my IR-1/CR-1 Visa process, I got an email from NVC since 02/02/2021 that my case is documentarily qualified and await interview date but I'm yet to get an interview date, do I need to worry or is there anything I can do? cos my wife has been so worried about the whole process and the delay.

A friend is about to get married next month. He is an American citizen- going to Nigeria to get married.

Question: He is getting married in the catholic church. He wants to know if the marriage certificate he is getting from the catholic church suffices to file for his wife when he returns to the States. Or would he have to go to the court in Ikoyi and get a marriage certificate there.

Is his Catholic marriage certificate recognized for immigration? (I recall something saying no-- but I personally didn't do the CR-1 route and wouldn't want to give bad advice).

Hey guys does this mean I was approved for my i751 I had the interview today and the interviewing officer told me that the case would be in review.
