I m currently living in the USA temporarily on a NATO-2 visa with my USC wife. After this posting, we are planning on returning to the USA from Canada at the end of my time in the military, so in the mean time I am trying to set the conditions for that eventual return while we enjoy our time here in the interim. I ve recently applied for and received my SSN card annotated as valid for work only with DHS authorization . Other than calling my bank and credit card (RBC Bank through their cross border banking and American Express) and having my SSN added to my banking/credit card profile with a W-8BEN form, is there anything else I should do to ensure I am starting to build a US credit rating? Thanks!

My fianc has his interview february 26th. At the time of the interview, the medical paperwork had not been received by them. About a week ago, my fianc received an email requesting updated passport photos and to upload them using the ceac website. First, it took us forever to find the invoice ID number. Eventually we did, and now when we log in, a page shows up saying a DS-160 needs to be created. We already did that. Has anyone run into this issue? If so, where do we need to go to upload these photos? Who should we contact to point us in the right direction?

Hello, I'm a citizen of Canada residing here with my husband (USC). I'm collecting all civil documents to submit to the NVC and am required to submit a police certificate from both Canada and Ethiopia as I was born in Ethiopia. The good thing is I have a police certificate from 2021 but did visit last year for 1 month. I know police certificates are valid for 1 or 2 years if you don't go back but does that include vacation or is that rule based on if I had resided or stayed in Ethiopia for a period of time? I'm essentially trying to understand if I need a new police certificate or if the one I have from 2021 is still valid since I've only been once for 30 days last year. Thank you in advance!

Hi everyone! I have seen a couple different things when I searched for this section. I am looking for clarification. Question 53.- Does this mean our initial meeting in person or just seeing each other in GENERAL the two years prior? What all can I use as physical evidence? I have pictures of us together. Can I use movie ticket stubs? text messages?

Hi guys! Hoping someone can help... my husband's oath ceremony was just scheduled and the date falls on a day that I will be out of the country. I *REALLY* want to be there but I can't change my travel plans, unfortunately. Should he go to the ceremony alone to get it done or should we ask to be rescheduled? We mentioned this possibility to the IO during our interview and he said "it happens all the time, just let us know if you need to be rescheduled" but it makes me sooo nervous for him to get lost in the pile or for it to take months to get back on the schedule again. The field office isn't far from our house, would you recommend hand delivering it to the office and asking for help or just sending it snail mail and waiting? Is it weird for him to go alone? The thought makes me so sad, but so does the thought of going to the end of the line. Any advice for us? Thanks!
