From interview to approved to VOH how many days is normal to wait? I had my interview on September 12th and was verbally approved, it changed to application received the same day, checked again and it has an updated date of September 16 but still says application received. When should that change to approved? Almost everyone else who had that interview date has had their visa issued.

Moving household Items

I am a US Citizen living in Canada as PR, with my Canadian citizen husband, and we have applied for his green card. I will be moving back to the US in a couple of months and he will stay in Canada until he is hopefully approved. Can I start moving my household items back before actually moving back, will I have issues at border? My husband will probably travel with me and we will use a trailer, it will just be easier for me as I can take a load back now and not pay for everything to be moved for me. I would like to move everything now but I am guessing moving his stuff with mine would be a hard no :) TIA!

I checked the case status of our K-1 Visa on CEAC and it said that the case is now Ready. Do I wait for an interview notification or should I schedule an interview appointment right away?

Inconsistent Information in USCIS Online Chat Conversations

Looking for advice. It is seems like every USCIS conversation I have online with an agent using the Chat feature gives inconsistent information for a case. Some agents give a detailed history of the offices the case is transferred to. Others say they cannot see that information. Most recently - I will have an agent same it is in Nebraska since Aug 16 and then another say it went to TX Aug 26, and then today they said latest update is that it was transferred to Nebraska Aug 16 and with an officer there.

This is a June 27, 2023 PD - something feels off. My mother's was approved, all the June 2023 PDs I know have have had an action on their case. My mother's is sitting in limbo in at NVC while we wait for my dads which is just sitting in processing since 2023.

Has anyone had success reaching out to the officer using the online inbox feature? Or other ways? Has anyone else felt the same runaround/inconsistent information from the Chat Feature on the USCIS website? It is un-nerving how they are giving different information. Any suggestions on how to get a REAL update on this case? It should have been adjudicated by now. All other mother/father cases in this blog are typically pushed through the USCIS stage only a day or so apart, longest i've seen is a couple weeks. I am almost at a month now between when Mother's was approved.

Worried about engagement photo

A S K-1 Journey

Hi all,

My fianc and I -- both guys -- put together an extensively-researched packet thanks to reading the experiences of all the amazing folks here at VJ. Mailed, they signed for it, we are waiting on our NOA1 now :)

Included in our relatively efficient presentation of evidence (we didn't go overboard on photos, and emphasized stronger things like entry/exit records and matching boarding passes), we included a photo commemorating our recent engagement, which happened on my latest time spent with him.

We're very aware of the issues some VJ members have had with engagement photos appearing too formal, but that seems to be moreso related to large gatherings with people, matching outfits, or cultural ceremonies?

But the worry bug which seems to go with this process has kicked in, as seems to go hand in hand with this process.

I've attached the photo we included, which before we sent the packet so obviously screamed "engagement, not married" in my mind: a single ring, a showing-off-the-ring pose, informal clothing, informal pose, just the two of us.

But just wanted to ask the perspective of this amazing group of folks, as y'all have been following these kinds of things for way longer.

Any reassurance is appreciated :)
