US Immigration from Canada

Good Afternoon Awesome VJ family-

SO we submitted 485, 130, 131, 765, 2 x864, e notification, medical to Chicago per the USCIS website via UPS on May 2nd.

UPS says it was delivered.

Hopefully we'll get the text notification soon.

I'm not sure how this works now.

I'm 95% sure we did everything correct, payments, paperwork etc...

How do we know if everything is good to go and there are no issues with the paperwork? My husband is authorized to stay until June 25th. Will we hear from USCIS before then?

If there are issues do we get a chance to correct them or will my husband fall into unauthorized stay while we correct them?

Just wondering what happens. maybe i'm paranoid.

My husband is waiting for immigration interview which can take about 8 months. Now his company is willing to do work visa for him, as they have offices in US as well. Is it possible to change/apply for work visa so late in the immigration process and while awaiting for immigration?

Hello, my husband was DQ for IR1 visa on March 5th, 2021. I know there is long wait time at the Montreal consulate, but is there an estimate? We are looking to purchase a new build house and need an ETA for the closing. Thank you

A year ago when we had our initial interview appointment (before it was canceled due to the pandemic) I remember reading here about being able to apply for employment Insurance in Canada to help while you transition from Canada to the US (after moving to the US) while you are looking for a new job in the US.

Is this something that you can do? I searched but can't find anything here.

If so can anyone advise and provide any links for applying?

I know that you aren't supposed to open the sealed envelope that you get once you pass the K-1 visa interview, and that it needs to be opened by the Custom's officer at your POE.

However, is this (the picture)...

1. the sealed envelope that people are talking about?
   • If so, do I tell the CO I am travelling through a K-1 visa and simply hand them this entire package with my passport inside?
2. Or is there another sealed envelope inside?
   • if so, can I open this to get my passport?
