Hello! My marriage-based AOS interview is in a week and I'm preparing for it. Do my spouse and I get interviewed together or separately and does the officer ask us both questions? Any tips would help! Thank you!

Hoping that I can get some more feedback on this topic. I am transferring from the Canadian Studio to the New York studio for work. Further discussing with the lawyer and work, I can choose from E-2 or the TN. In the long term, I would like to stay permanently. From the research I gathered, the E-2 visa seems to offer a bit more possibilities to obtain the GC route (I do understand it will not be a direct green card route, there will be more paper work and a sponsored required) but TN seems to offer less possibilities. TN will be instant and no interview is needed since it is POE stamp and E-2 will have a 6 month wait time for the interview. I think I will opt for the E-2 visa in the end. If there will be a long wait for the interview, can I be working a few months in the us on a B1 visa? (visitor business) and return to Canada for the interview. Work is quite flexible because of the virus, and remote working is making things a bit easier. I would like to hear others experiences and opinions, and which would you opt for?

Hello, I am a nonresident alien living in Canada and my husband is a US citizen living in the US. We got married in 2019 and I changed my last name to his. We have been doing taxes as married filing separately for 2019 and now we're doing the same for 2020. When looking at the 2019 tax return for both his US return (spouse section) and my Canada return, I realized that we put in my maiden name instead of my new last name. Is this a problem? Should I just file this year's returns with my new last name? Thank you

Between EAD and Green Card - work history considered? |

Hello, We have just received the EAD (filed for AOS a year ago, after marriage under the terms of the K-1 visa), for which we are very grateful. My question is to what extent, if at all, employment/work history is taken into account during the Green Card interview. I am a language interpreter/translator and have been doing much to establish my business in the U.S. and be able to hit the ground running when work authorization comes. But now that it's here, many things remain to be done. I don't expect my income to suddenly shoot up. (Those who are private contractors or have a business of their own understand this - all these things take time.) Supposing a Green Card interview were to take place a year or two from now, do you think I might get questions the likes of "Well, you've had work authorization for over xyz amount of time now, and why are making so little money?" Or is this simply irrelevant, since the whole immigration process is based on marriage, not on work? (I wonder about this only because of how much emphasis, and rightly so, is placed on contributing to the U.S. economy rather than being a drain on it.)
