US Immigration from Canada

Hello All,

My wife (Canadian citizen) and I (US citizen) live in a suburb of Seattle, which is only about a 2.5 hour drive to the Canadian border. My wife is from Vancouver BC, and we completed her immigration to the US via K1 Visa/Marriage/ROC over the past 4 years....she currently holds her 10 year GC.

We've considered moving to Langley BC in the next 3-4 years, with me going through whatever proper channels to immigrate to Canada.

Was curious if any of the members here have any personal or 2nd hand experiences of a US citizen spouse immigrating to Canada, but continuing to work in the US.

I understand we are in Covid times, but prior to the pandemic, has anyone here immigrated to a Canadian border city to live, but crossed the border to commute to work in-person for a US business?

What were your inputs, thoughts, experiences?

Hi all, has anyone gone through this? I went through the website and reported that the post office didn't deliver my card and they told me to fill out another application and the only instructions were to not mail it to the national benefits centre. Do I need to pay the fee again? Do I need to wait another 9 months?

I'm so angry!! My grandmother is sick and I was hoping to make it home to say goodbye and I guess that's not going to happen.

Good morning, I had my interview on November 2, 2021 but my medical was not in on time. The officer said my visa would be approved when he received the medical exam. He handed me a 221 g form stating reason is medical exam. The exam was emailed to the consulate on November 4, 2021. My status still shows refused and the last date it was updated was November 4. I emailed the consulate but still have not received a response. Is this normal procedure or should I be concerned. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

My husband entered the US 11/15/2018 under the K1 visa. I did all the legwork without and legal representation; all paperwork was done correctly and we got notification that they received the packet with the Adjustment of Status, etc. But since then, long story short, his application has been lost in the ether. I know what the next steps are, and the first one is to renew his work authorization. As far as I can tell, we have to re-submit form I-765. It has been a long time since I've filled out these documents and I am nervous! I have a few questions, if anyone is able to help.

1. I don't know what to put for #27, the "eligibility category," since he is a temporary permanent resident and no longer under the K-1 visa. The instructions are a little confusing. Is it still (c)(9) like last time?

2. Do we have to pay a fee?

3. Do I still have to provide all the documentation that we provided last time, such as passport, visa, etc, or just a copy of the original EAD?

Also, most importantly, I can't remember who to address it to! Can anyone help? TIA!

This question is directed mainly to my fellow Canadians who live in border cities. How is your experience visiting the USA using your car during the I-130 process? What type of documents do you bring with you, how often do you cross? How long do you stay? This is my first time visiting after sending I-130 so I am a little stressed.
