I-864 First Job for Intending Immigrant

Hello,

I sent my AOS (from B2) back in July 2021. At that time, my USC spouse s dad is the joint sponsor since my husband does not meet the minimum income requirements. I am starting a new job in December after getting my EAD in a couple weeks. Do we fill out a revised I-864 with the new income of the intending immigrant? I will obviously have zero income in IRS 2021 transcript by the time my interview comes between March to July 2022. I d like to know if I can include the new US income to boost our case (annual income not earned yet .eg job offer for X amount of dollars). Thanks.

N-400 Name on Green Card Question

Hello,

I am in the process of filling out my N-400 form and have everything filled out ready to submit. I was just conflicted about one section.

The question on the N-400 form says:

"What is your name exactly as it appears on your Permanent Resident Card?
Provide your name exactly as it appears on your Permanent Resident Card, even if it is misspelled."

I'll use an example name for myself as John Smith Doe.

On my green card it says:

Surname: Doe

Given Name: John S

And on the N-400 form online there's boxes that say:

Given name (First name)
Middle Name
Family name (last name)

On my green card, there is no section for middle name. So, on the N-400 form would I put John S under given name or put John as the given name and S under Middle Name?

I might be over thinking this - but, I wanted to make sure everything was accurate as possible to avoid any potential issues.

Thank you!

Good morning everyone,

I am just writing to enquire about an update regarding the Montreal consulate. Does anyone know if the Montreal consulate has taken K1 visa cases from the NVC at all this month? I ve been checking the backlog spreadsheet as well as viewing timelines on here and I haven t seen any recent updates.

Unfortunately I don t use Facebook so I can t view the Montreal K1 visa page there. Like many others, we have been waiting a long time - since April 27 (our NOA2) - and it has been frustrating.

Is there a specific thread for the Montreal consulate on this forum?

Sorry to be asking so many questions, but I feel like I m just searching for scraps of information.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

  • Copy of your government-issued identity document with photograph;
  • Copy of your passport page with nonimmigrant visa;
  • Copy of your passport page with your admission or parole stamp (issued by a U.S. immigration officer);
  • Copy of Form I-94, Arrival/Departure Record or copy of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) admission or parole stamp on the travel document (if applicable)

The above extract is from the USCIS website under what to submit for I-485.

The last 3 are pretty clear, but regarding the "Copy of your government-issued identity document with photograph" is this just asking for passport and would it be the bio pages or the entire passport? I am PR holder of Canada, now in the US on K1, hope I do not have to provide any documents like PR card of Canada for this particular item.

Kindly assist.

Does anyone actually receive their SSN after arrival from checking YES on DS-260?

It seems by reading these forums that although it is supposed to happen that an SSN will be issued and mailed to you after entering the country if you checked "Yes" on ds-260, this doesn't actually work or do anything, and that 3 weeks later everyone then has to go through the process of applying in person.

I have a job interview on Thursday, and have not been able to get a bank account due to not having a SSN. More importantly, even, I am unable to get licensed under my regulated profession until I have an SSN (for various reasons).

Is it just my perception? Does anyone know of anyone who has actually received it through Ds-260 alone? I arrived just a couple days shy of 3 weeks ago and am growing impatient and stressed about it not arriving yet.
