  1. Thank you Mike, looks like I will just return home after graduation/OPT ends and proceed through the CR1 process afterwards. I seriously, truly, appreciate you sending likes to other articles to provide insight and further information to me. It can be very confusing trying to navigate, so when someone like yourself is helpful, it truly makes a difference. Have a great evening. Happy Easter! 😊
  2. American Immigration stuff makes my head spin, I don’t even know what this means 😂😮‍💨
  3. Sounds about right 😂 was told from a few others to definitely seek different lawyers for consultations
  4. I’m not sure what that means in terms of itemizing tax deductions for Canada…
  5. Yes sir - I did know my spouse prior to starting my degree program. However, still have ties to Canada. Paying rent, lease, car, all items stored. intending to go home after degree ends. just commented below that we did a free consultation with the lawyer who told us about the AOS being a possibility since we were over the 90 days it could not pose issues. But it seemed suspicious to me and a few others I spoke to lol I don’t wanna any repercussions. So likely still will return home. Just looking into others stories/scenarios for some guidance.
  6. It’s been awhile since I read the VJ guide- we did a free consultation with the lawyer who told us about the AOS being a possibility since we were over the 90 days it could not pose issues. But it seemed suspicious to me and a few others I spoke to.
  7. What are options for AOS after being on a I-20 student visa? If you have been in your degree program almost 1-year and married to an american before starting the degree program. We are past the 90-day from entrance-current point in program. Planning to OPT after degree program ends. Thank you for any insight.
  8. Hello, Seeking some help here. I have tried googling with not much help/conflicting information. We were married in Jan. 2022. I am the Canadian resident/my spouse is the U.S. Resident. April 2022 myself and our son moved to the US on an I-20 as I am an international student down here. In terms of filing our 2022 taxes (married but separately?) does my spouse only need the total of my income for the year to get their taxes done? I cannot file mine before the 2022 Canadian deadline due to awaiting a form from my current educational facility, but if they want to get theirs done ASAP do they just need my total income(?) - I have all my tax slips and know the #'s. Thanks to anyone who. may be able to provide some insight!
  9. The earliest that F-1 status students cannot enter the U.S. until 30 days prior to the semester start date.
