Hello, I arrived in Florida with my IR1 Visa on Jan 1st. I was under the impression it was easier to contact the office because in order to start a job without my SSN in hand I AT LEAST need some sort of letter indicating that It is on the way or they will not allow me to work. The Tampa office is closed for in person visits without an appt but I can't even reach them by phone, it won't even allow me to be on hold.. after 3 minutes of listening to the stupid automated voice it "puts you on hold" for 3 seconds and then says sorry were busy and hangs up. I need to work so what am I supposed to do? I called the 1800 number and they said only the local office can help me. I am probably going to lose the job I already had lined up

My husband holds NATO2 visa currently and considering staying in the US as an option. Someone mentioned NATO visa holders can actually find an employer who is willing to file labor certificate for him via I566, which would qualify as special immigration category. Does anyone know about this and offer some input? Thank you.

Hi all, I'm a K1 visa applicant from Canada. I have my K1 Visa interview next week in Montreal! I did my medical examination last month in Maple, Ontario with Dr. Ian Zatzman. Everything seemed to be okay but, the doctor did not give me the medical exam result in a sealed envelope. He said it was emailed to the US consulate instead. What should I do? Has anyone experienced this? Is this how it is being processed now because of COVID? I just want to make sure that I will be okay when I go to the interview.

I'm an American citizen (by birth) and have been in Canada since 2013 (I have dual citizenship as of 2019). I met my Canadian fiance here in Toronto. We are looking to move to the States and reside there permanently. I have pored over the information on the different spousal visas, but they all seem to be missing the information of what do I do if I, the petitioner, am not residing in the States, and have not for quite some time? Do I *have* to move back alone first before applying? I guess the main question I am asking here is which visa, if any, will allow me to apply from Canada and stay with my fiance until we move to the States together. From what I have gathered, DCF is not really a thing anymore, so that option is out. (I am willing to get married in Canada beforehand, if K1 is not the best option for my situation). I'd also like some guidance on establishing domicile (if this is even necessary depending on which visa I choose). My life has of course been in Canada for the last 8 years and I don't have any family ties in the States. We would be starting over completely together in a new state. My job is fairly easily transferrable and I don't think finding an offer would be too hard. My fiance has a job in Canada that he could potentially work from home in the States until he finds a job in America- is this even allowed? Thanks so much for any help provided. I appreciate it.

My wife just got her 2 year green card! YAY! When we applied for the card we checked the box to get a SSN number with the AOS. One didn't arrive with the card and I don't see any reference to one coming in any of the documentation. Do we go to the Social security office and follow up? We don't want to accidently apply twice.
