@harshshahI just went today to get my driver's licence! I went to the DMV in Washington. Most states have a licence exchange program with Canada so they punched a hole in my BC DL and gave it back with a temporary paper for a WA DL. Will get my WA DL in the mail soon. I brought my passport with visa since my green card has not appeared yet, my BC DL, and my SSN, though I think they would take a birth certificate instead she asked for one but I didn't have it on me. I brought the SSN slip with my US address on it as well though she just asked me to verbally give her the address. Took my picture and all done in 10 minutes.

Piece of cake, you can even apply for a DL  as a visitor in some states. The United States knows how much people rely on their driver’s license to earn a living, unlike Ontario, where you get a fail on the G for not being used to using the hand break on flat terrain. The US it’s the easiest Country for DL’s and it’s cheap!. I grew tired of how shitty DriveTest is and went and got a driver’s license in NY with a tourist visa,  I canceled my Ontario driver’s license G2  and after a while received a refund because had a few years on it.  You have to read their own rulebook though and let them know you know 😂otherwise they pretend you are not entitled to a refund. Man just remembering makes me understand why my husband renounce his Citizenship.

If you can get a record of insurance from your auto insurance provider, that is also a big help when shopping rates.
