US Immigration from Canada

Hello all,

Just wondering, what's the procedure of transferring case from Montreal, Canada to Guangzhou, China? How long does it take? Is NVC going to refuse my request?

My case (F2B; PD: Jun. 16, 2015; DQ: Aug. 28, 2020) is currently in NVC and waiting for NVC to schedule an IV interview in Montreal. I'm a Chinese passport holder (Canadian PR) residing in Canada.

Any input is appreciated.

I realized I made a mistake while completing my DS-160 and only included my most recent employer, and not all my employers over the last five years. Unfortunately I am unable to edit it, and I have my interview next week. Is this going to be an issue? I m hoping I don t get a 221g, but I m worried that will be the case.

What can I do?

Claiming Health benefits (using your provincial healthcare) after you have crossed the border and become an LPR of US, is healthcare fraud (at least in Ontario, but likely also in Alberta). Hence here on VJ we advise you against doing that.

Whether the province can find out or not, is, in my opinion immaterial, unless you are looking to get away with healthcare fraud. To that end, there was news about Canada intending on tracking Entry/ Exit data, although I do not know how far they have implemented that.

We finally received our "ready" from NVC to embassy and waiting for our packet 3 instructions. I found the online version just to get a head start and we are trying to obtain the police certficate. My fiance has a record from 10 years ago related to possession of weed and it's legal in Canada now so we've received a U.S. waiver to allow him to cross the border.

Is there a link that we can go order the police certificate or does he need to go in person? I see that fingerprinting is required, is it possible for him to get that done here? He has went through the biometrics part with RCMP for court records and the waiver.

Any sort of guidance anyone with a beneficiary in Canada can provide would be helpful. So anxious that we're so close but don't want anything more to be a drag. It's a just a money grab situation wherever we turn.

We are currently living in Canada until my wife and step daughters visa is approved. We are at the NVC stage right now. I intend to move back to the US just before their interview to reestablish domicile. I will be doing a work transfer from my currently employer, to an office in the US. Do I need to find a joint sponsor in the meantime to proceed with the NVC package? (My income when I move to the US will be enough that I do not need a joint sponsor.
