US Immigration from Canada

Hello all,

I am moving to the US (Denver, CO) on Feb. 26th and I would like to actively avoid delays by knowing beforehand which SSA office in Denver has staff knowledgeable about K1 visas so that I can make an appointment and get my SSN. Also, kindly let me know if the chances of rejection are high if I apply for SSN after marriage. One more thing - can I go apply for SSN by myself without my wife accompanying me?

I have a new job offer which would provide me a salary of around $145.000 usd per year. My current job income is not enough for the Affidavit of Support so, could I use a letter from the employer as proof of income?

Hey guys, I got my notice for my I-485 interview for March 1st & after reading through the recommended evidence for ongoing relationship I started to panic a bit.

Due to SSA messing me around, I never got my SSN so most things I could never get.

So far aside from photos from our wedding ceremony in California (we had our actual wedding a few months before this at the courthouse to stay within the 90 days) I ve been able to be added as an authorized user to my husbands credit card & we have a Sam s club membership together.

He s going to be talking to his work on Monday about a possible loop hole they may have managed to find to get me on his health insurance (it s not open enrolment) so that s a possibility!
Our lease isn t due for renewal until after the appointment date so I cant be added to that in time to use it as evidence either.

Is there any other ideas you guys have that I could use? Or do you think these things will be enough?

I did check off for USCIS to apply for SSN for me due to not being able to get one in time, so I m hoping they d be understanding that most things require an SSN to be added to (eg bank accounts, car insurance, bills etc)

Hello, soon to be K1 status in the U.S. from Canada and we are trying to plan out the best course of action for: marriage, SSN, and AOS. We would like to get married and then apply for my SSN before applying for AOS. What we've been seeing is more commonly SSN before marriage. Is it possible to get married and apply for an SSN before AOS? Or does your status change slightly upon marriage so that you now have to wait for SSN through i-765? The way I understand it is that your K1 status remains even after marriage until you apply for AOS, and so I should be able to apply for an SSN as K1, even after marriage. BUT I have been wrong before about this confusing immigration process. Thanks in advance!

I am Canadian and just crossed the land border to the USA for a quick visit. Seems like I-94 did not update to show this trip but showing my last trip. Should I be concerned?
