Hi! I was trying to book an appointment for my medical and the medical physician says that they'll send it directly to the Montreal Consulate. The packet 3 and 4 confirmations state that I need to bring the sealed medical report to the Consulate. Which is it? Does the doctor send it to the Consulate directly and I take nothing? Or Do I pickup the results myself and take the envelope to the interview? Any help is appreciated!

Hey everyone. I'm FINALLY getting around to applying for my first US passport after becoming a citizen last year - I did not have any travel planned so I had no need to have one at that time - and I'm a little confused by the "Spouse of Applicant" information section. Apologies if this is a silly question. Has the applicant ever been married? The answer is "yes" ? He's married to me, and ONLY been married to me. So the for is asking for HIS information in that section?

Well, I never knew I was still a permanent resident any longer, but after travelling to the US with an expired green card I found out I am! Apparently you can't get rid of it too easily, and I am glad for it. We left the US years ago for me to go to grad school in Canada. Between being a parent, along with COVID restrictions and part-time work my PhD has lasted nine years. (!) But the border services agent in Vermont told me that I needed to file a series of forms, starting with i-90 for my expired green card, and then either 1-131 or N-470. It's wasn't clear to me which one, and I wasn't convinced he was 100 percent clear either. In the end he said to file 1-131 and that I would have two years to file for naturalization - which I now realize I must do if we are to ever travel to/live in the US again over the long term. But it seems that you can only file the I-131 from the US. Does anyone have any information on whether that has changed since COVID? This is very stressful as we are planning to go back for a family visit this summer and I don't quite know which route to go. Thanks!

Hi all! Apologies if this is already a thread but I thought it might be a good idea for people to post when they got their ILs here I noticed that on the big spreadsheet, it doesn't look like anyone got a letter in March at all! At least not from people on VJ. I only got DQ'd April 5 so I'm not anticipating anything for myself for a while but would love to watch others get theirs!!

If my spouse is visiting the USA during the consulate I130 visa process, is she able to complete her biometrics and medical here or does it have to be completed in her home country?
