Abandoned AOS and now regret it
Please be nice, I know I made a mistake... But got my K1 approved and arrived in the US June 25, 2024 and applied for AOS February 25, 2025 -- then left the US (abandoned my AOS). Will I be banned for re-entry to the US -- even under a spouse visa?

US Citizen with Foreign Fiancé: When and How to Get Married?
I'm currently living and working in the United States. My fiancé currently lives in Japan. We have been dating for about 6 months, and we have met in person several times, but we are not yet married.
My fiancé will be visiting me in the United States on a tourist visa some time in March or April and staying for about 3 months. I want to file for a fiance/spouse visa asap -- what's next?

N400: Admitted to Weed during Green Card (was it a crime I was not arrested for?)
To start, marijuana is illegal in my country of origin. When I was applying for my green card I admitted to trying marijuana when I was in my 20's (I'm 49 now). I got my green card and have lived in the US for 5 years. I'm in the process of applying for citizenship. What answer should I give to the question: "Have you EVER committed, agreed to commit, asked someone else to commit, helped commit, or tried to commit a crime or offense for which you were NOT arrested? Yes or No" given that I admitted to past marijuana use during the GC process?

Fiancée threatened with deportation by customs agent after arriving at airport for false accusations. How concerned should we be?
Firstly, I want to get some things clear because I know everyone will say this otherwise:
We are seeing an immigration attorney for consultation soon. We've already printed out several documents to prove that my fiancée is not coming here with the intent to live here for the future until they get the K-1 Visa... Now, Heres the actual story...

Fiance or Marriage Visa in 2025 ? Pros and cons?
    I'm 23F 🇨🇿, my partner is 29M 🇺🇲
We want to get our visa going sometime this year and want to be together as soon as possible but we are still unsure which visa would serve us better. I'd like to get married in my home country but on the other side i wouldn't mind getting married paperwise in the US and waiting for my work permit and etc if it would allow us to be together faster and then save up for and have our dream wedding in my home country.

What do you think ? All of this is so overwhelming and confusing and we just want to do the right thing.

I asked the same question on reddit, so many people recommended me to go with fiance visa, two suggested marriage visa. I need more input and advice  from experienced people. Thank you
Ps: is it possible to have dual citizenship so i don't lose one from my home country? How does that work ?

    134 Form Question,

My fianc has her interview in 10 days. I already filled the 134 form, print, signed and scanned to email to her,

however I just read an article that says the statement letters from the bank must have total deposits for 12 months and signed by the officer.

The statement letters I got from my 3 banks, only have the date the account was opened, current balance and no signature from the officer.

Does anyone know if the embassy will accept these statements or do I need to go back and get new ones with the signature and 12 months deposits?

Recently naturalized wife wants to bring parents to US - Questions

So I have been doing a lot of research on what it would take to bring my wife's parents to the US and so far I think I have some answers but I also have some questions. What I know is we need to do an I-130 for both of her parents. What I'm wondering is how similar this process is to applying for a spousal visa like we did with my wife. I know we will need basic documents like my wife's naturalization certificate, parents marriage certificate and parents birth certificates (I'm assuming this one). Those are the things I know. Here are my questions:

What other documents that I didn't list will be needed?

Does my wife need to provide proof of income like I did when petitioning for her? If so are the income requirements the same?

What are the fees to file the I-130s? Can this be filed online?

What is the average processing time when filing for a parent? The same as a spousal visa? Slower? Faster?

My wife's brother is 17. If we file before he turns 18 (in December) can he be included with my wife's parents? How does that process work?

Will my wife's parents have to go for an interview? If so can they bring someone along to translate for them as they aren't fluent in English? If my wife's brother was included in the process he is fluent in English if he was allowed to attend the interview. Otherwise would they be allowed to have someone attend to translate for them?

Anyways that's all I have for now. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Spouse Wants Mom To Come Visit - N400 In The Works?

My wife is technically eligible to apply for N400 under 3 year rule but we are waiting because we arrived in Aug 2022 with her IR1 but stayed just a few weeks and then went back to Peru to terminate our lease and take care of loose ends, arriving back in the US in Dec 2022. We will be applying for the N400 around Sep (90 days-ish). Currently, my wife wants to assist her mom in applying for a tourist visa so she can get in what we assume to be a long line and come visit us here (absolutely no intention of staying long term). Are there any people with experience or suggestions. Is this a good idea? bad idea? Any pitfalls we should consider? Thanks.

Dual citizenship for wife, US born children and Philippines born step son

As the title suggests I have some questions about dual Philippines US citizenship. Our situation has a few variables at play here so I'll lay out all the details then ask my specific questions.

So my wife and step son came to the US on a CR1 visa and since then we had 2 more kids who are 7 years and 18 months old. My wife became a naturalized citizen in December of last year and my step son turned 18 in April meaning he derived citizenship from my wife but we still have to file his N600 (which were starting on this weekend). My wife and I did not file a "report of birth" (think thats what it is called) with the Philippines consulate for our US born children as we were unaware at the time it had to be done before they turned one year old. So our end goal here is for my wife and all the children to have dual citizenship. Here are my questions:

    Wife:

I think the process is fairly straightforward for her. Simply submit the requirements on the (Chicago) consulate website and schedule an appointment. Am I missing anything here? Does she need a US passport before applying?

    Step son:

As I mentioned we are getting ready to file his N600. Does he qualify to apply for dual citizenship now by just using a US passport or will he need to complete the N600 process first. My understanding is he is already technically a US citizen. He just doesn't have the certificate yet. Can he apply for dual citizenship on my wife's application or will he have to do it separately? The end goal would be to only have to take a trip to Chicago once to complete everything but I don't know if that's possible.

    US born children:

It was my understanding that my wife and I were supposed to report their birth to the Philippines consulate before they turned one year old which we failed to do. It was also my understanding we could fill out a form explaining why we didn't do so. I was not sure what a valid reason would be on that form. I thought a "report of birth" was the only way to get their dual citizenship until I saw this on the dual citizenship website for the Chicago consulate:

"Under the principle of derivative citizenship, unmarried children below eighteen (18) years of age, whether legitimate, illegitimate, or adopted, of former Filipino parents who retained/reacquired their Philippine citizenship under this law, may also be deemed Filipino citizens, if they are included in the parent s application for retention/reacquisition of Philippine citizenship."

Does this mean we can simply include them in my wife's dual citizenship application and bypass the "report of birth" process entirely? I'm a bit confused here. Hopefully someone can clear this up for me. If the "report of birth" process is still nessasary some clarification on what I could use as a reason for not reporting them in time would be helpful.

    General questions:

We are planning a trip to the Philippines at the end of next year. We are planning on staying for a couple months. Assuming my wife and none of the kids have dual citizenship by then would they all qualify for balikbayan visas? Would I qualify for one via my wife even if she didn't have dual citizenship yet? I assume my wife and step son would qualify based on their former Philippines citizenship.

Anyways those are the questions I have in order to get this process started. I'm sure I'll have more as I dig into it deeper. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone I really need help right now my case is in US consulate Montreal but was placed on administrative processing but I’m back in my home country Nigeria and I’ve been having difficulty communicating with them in regards to the transfer of my case
if anyone knows their mobile number and email address for Immigrant cases please let me know
thank you for your assistance in advance.

and another thing it’s been about two years since I went for my last interview and was refused based on the fact that I had outgrown my category and was told to wait
while transferring to another consulate do I need to also contact and NVC and notify them about it and does it affect my case in anyway.

Hey! I tried to go back to the thread where we were chatting about the increased timeline, but can’t seem to find it.

anyway I wanted to spread some hope your way. I’m apart of several k1 visa groups, some of which are on Facebook and ppl have been talking about the increased timeline there too.

one person shared this and 🤞🏽they are right. Just wanted to share with you because I know we were both feeling a bit hopeless.

The Philippines is a horrible third world communist S**T Hole. IMy heart is breaking because I do not believe I will ever see my wife and stepchild again. I will have to divorce her if she cannot come to the Uniyed States. If I had known how bad rge CFO was I would have never even bothered with a Filipino. It is jysrt so rediculously unfair that the Philippines thinks it owns its citizenss and can essentilly imprison them because they are not allowed to leave. I cannot have a wife I can only see a couple of weeks a year. I should have stayed away from the Philippines.
