PSA: If entering the USA 2 years after marriage, kindly remind the immigration officer of this
When we last entered the US, our immigration officer said "Oh, hmm I wonder if I could go ahead and change you an IR-1."  The agent right next to him said "Yes, you can do that" and he acted surprised. His comments made it pretty clear he was going to erroneously issue us a CR-1 and he seemed to not even know he could change the visa status until his coworker advised him (THANK GOODNESS she overheard!).  I don't know how onerous the process is to correct such an oversight but I'm glad we didn't have to find out!

Just wanted to pass this along in the hopes it saves someone from any problems with the wrong stamp being placed in the passport, as I've read about here before....  I would kindly remind the officer "We married >2 years ago.  We can enter with an IR-1 visa now right?"

Traveled to Canada for 20 days after entering the U.S. on a K-1 visa (June 1–22). Seeking reentry under Automatic Visa Revalidation (AVR).
I entered the U.S. on a K-1 visa on June 1st and left for Canada on June 2nd, remaining here for 20 days. I am now attempting to return to the U.S. through Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ) using Automatic Visa Revalidation (AVR). My K-1 visa is expired, but my I-94 is still valid. Am I ok?

Wrong USCIS application form filed by my lawyer!
Hello, so my wife came in k-1 visa to USA and we got married and all. We filled for work permit and green card together but while doing that my lawyer filed for I-130 no idea why. Will that application make my process for work permit and green card slow? If so how do I withdrawal that application? My lawyer isn’t helpful at all. I need some help…

Seeking advice for Thai/US couple - What US visa path to take?
My gf and I live in Thailand but spend 2-4months in the US per year. Once/if we have children age 5+, the time split would become vice versa. We have no plans to live full-time in the United States in the next 5 years, but I visit my family and friends 2-3x per year for 2-3 weeks at a time. I would love it if she can join me for those trips and experience that part of my life. What options do we have -- US visa wise, maybe a tourist or fiance visa later? Other?

Abandoned AOS and now regret it
Please be nice, I know I made a mistake... But got my K1 approved and arrived in the US June 25, 2024 and applied for AOS February 25, 2025 -- then left the US (abandoned my AOS). Will I be banned for re-entry to the US -- even under a spouse visa?

US Citizen with Foreign Fiancé: When and How to Get Married?
I'm currently living and working in the United States. My fiancé currently lives in Japan. We have been dating for about 6 months, and we have met in person several times, but we are not yet married.
My fiancé will be visiting me in the United States on a tourist visa some time in March or April and staying for about 3 months. I want to file for a fiance/spouse visa asap -- what's next?

I married my Moroccan husband in Marrakech last month. Since I am old and we would like to try for a child, I plan to move there to be with him when the school year ends this June. How much will this compromise my domicile? I don't own a house in the US (just a car, which I will leave with my college-age child). I am planning to keep my drivers license, bank account, voting record, investment/retirement accounts, US taxes, etc, and will travel back to the US relatively frequently to see my child and my parents. I was not planning to work in Morocco immediately, though I might pursue on-line teaching or tutoring if I can stand the time difference. I was thinking about getting a carte de sejour so I could buy a car and practice Morocco city driving in case I need to get a teaching job there. Is that a bad idea from a domicile perspective? Are there other things I should keep in mind or do as I prepare to start the visa paperwork?

Thank you so so much for your help.

I've been together with my girlfriend almost six years now and we are both ready for marriage. I've traveled many times to Ecuador and she's traveled many times to the U.S. She has two kids 13 and 17. Question is how to go about this and not get scammed. We have just started looking at all options and there are two different visas the K1 and Spousal. Which would be the best options? Cost wise an estimate of how much this would cost. We definitely want to get this done as soon as possible especially with everything that's goin on in Ecuador at the moment.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi wonderful people!

I have a question for my friend. She has been dating a wonderful man from the UK here in the states for a while now and they are trying to figure out their next steps. Her boyfriend is a L-1B visa holder. Is there a path for them to marry? If so what's their process?

    Thanks in advance!

    2 IP addresses making appointments?

I hired a consultant in Cebu to make the appointments for Biometrics, Medical, and consulate. She has already messed up by not scheduling my fiance and her son together. So she has had to cancel appointments made. It has now been over 2 months since getting our Welcome Letter and we are back to 0.

I told her I want to help her here in the USA to make new appointments. At first she agreed but now says if two IP addresses log into the scheduling website it could cause problems.

Does anybody know if this is true?

"Have you traveled to any countries/regions within the last five years?" is in the "Work / Education / Training Information" section of the DS-260 online.

Does this question pertain just to work/education travel, or to all travel destinations including for leisure?

Good morning for Good people, you did tell me to let you know how it ends for my wife visa interview.  I am here again to let you know that my wife have been denied a medical visiting visa under section 214 said by the United States embassy in Ghana Accra 🇬🇭, which has no merit because I provided everything to them.

Hello @zaccunningham13. I've had your case on my tracking list and I think you may have received an interview letter this week. Any news?
