What an excellent idea!. Lets put brother dean in charge of construction, after all he's so good with fences ;)

You'll have to put the alligators on the airplanes, too.

And who'll be in charge of the air-gators? The Air Marshall? Can you just see one of them walking a gator up and down the aisles on a leash? "Good little gator, here, have some peanuts" *SNARF!* Aligator mistakes small child for sack of honey-roasted peanuts.

Good point. Sharks with laser beams, then. No alligators.

Hmmm. I have this foggy mental image of a really happy shark, like the reformed ones from Nemo, with one of those reflective devices (like doctors used to wear on their foreheads) strapped to his head. To this device, one of those $2.99 laser pointers you can buy at Walgreens, with changeable designs. He could flop up and down the aisles of the airplane shinning his little red laser smiley face on unsuspecting passengers.

I still think he would have trouble telling the difference between a small child and a packet of honey-roasted peanuts.

this thread made me think of a few years ago when we were in el paso and driving along the border and spotted some ripped clothing on a barbwire fence. I completely forgot about that

OMG not all illegal immigrants are mexican? :o

I read the statistics some time ago that roughly 80% of illegal immigrants in the USA originate from Latin America. Roughly 57% from Mexico alone. Mexico is the largest single source from its own citizens and from other countries that use Mexico as a gateway to illegally enter the USA. That is not insignificant or a fact that should be glossed over in any debate about illegal immigration.

If I remember correctly the illegal population originates roughly 60% EWI and roughly 40% from overstays of visas.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995
