Nybody wanna buy a wedding dress? I have 4 of them LOL. No Im not that indecisive or stood up that often...I used to own a bridal shop back in Canada and have a few left over...however when I was planning my wedding, none fit, and I knew what I wanted and it wasnt any of them. I went to Davids bridal nd got something 'similar' to what I wanted...but after buying it and getting home and thinking about the alterations I would have to make to get it to fit me, and to make it what more like what I wanted, I said to myself screw it...start from scratch and get what you want....so I made one :)

Seriously, I have 4 for sale tho, 2 ivory infomals, 2 white formals, I have pics of all 4...but here is the one I made...and I loved it :)

It was a 4 piece. Corest top, the skirt was 2 layers, mermaid style with a small train and the bottom came off so it was a short dress for the reception, and it had a jacket similar to the lace one anytaholland had but long sleeves and out of a heavy battenberg lace that I wore just to the church and outside etc. It was Feb, and rainy, I expected colder, didnt really need the jacket but it was the most expensive part at $50 a yard x 8 yards LOL

I wanted an actual corset top and a straight skirt, however actual corsets are hard to come by unless you want to pay $300+ after making one, I see why heh. I dont have great pics because ...they are at the videographers, he is making us a dvd but here are a few of what I have to see it...

http://www.visajourney.com/gallery/albums/...al_wedding4.JPG (front view)

http://www.maplegrove.bravehost.com/thewedding.htm (a bunch of pics with the lower skirt off, the reception etc, bravenet.com wont let me post the pic from here)

If I could figue out how to add pics to the albums.....

All of your dresses look so lovely!

We chose to have a small courthouse wedding, and I have to say, it turned out beautifully! I didn't want to spend a lot of money on my dress, but figured this was my first and only wedding so why not! :P And with hubby looking so dashing, I had to look as good as him! :D

WOW! You look so beautiful! LOVE the hairdo too!

WOW ladies you all look so beautiful!!!

I am jealous too, we had a courthouse wedding and a very rushed preparation. We just got the rings the morning of our wedding and we had 30 minutes to shower and get dressed. I ended up doing my make-up in the car!! I just wore a very pale pink/creamy coloured summer dress that I had for many years and a linen jacket over it. We only have a couple of wedding pictures and they are not very clear. I wanted to go to the park afterwards and have some good pictures taken, but I was overuled by my in-laws who just wanted to go to the restaurant and get it over with I suppose.

We're Catholic and would love a real church ceremony one day.

I love ALL the dresses!!!! I'm amazed at no matter how many 'brides' I make, each dress is totally different and every time I get a picture sent to me of a new dress I get excited as I can't wait to get it started!! I've got 8 'brides' lined up waiting to be done and some of their dresses are breath taking!

I've been married twice and on each occassion I wore a 'suit' so never got that chance to wear one of your beautifull dresses, but at least I have the pleasure of making many -and thats good enough in my book

my wedding dress pic is in my profile but you can only see the top of it - in retrospect I hated my dress. I didn't have enough time to get one I really liked and could get to Australia.

I was so rushed I'm sure the woman at the bridal shop thought Iw as pregnant

Ok, I've gone back and looked at everyones dresses now, they are all SO pretty! It's amazing how each of us is able to find a dress that is just perfect for us :) I went to the store not even planning on buying a dress, just getting ideas for dresses, and as soon as I walked in I saw my dress on a mannequin and KNEW that was the one for me! I bought it waayy back in November and it only came in a couple weeks ago, luckily it fit! It was too big actually, thank goodness, and we get free alterations because they screwed up and it shipped late :) I don't think I'm gonna be able to bend over or sit though because the seamstress has me strapped into that thing TIGHT! I guess I better make sure at my next fitting I can sit in it! :P

Like I said in my previous post I'd love to PM the link to anyone who wants to see it :) I really want it to be a complete suprise to James so I'm not risking him being able to see it! I haven't told him a thing about it, not even the store, if he's anything like me he would be nosy and try to find it online! :)

miranda...i would love to see your dress... thanks! hehe, i love it when we get to surprise our men! good job girl!

Beautiful dresses!!

Mine's in My Photos and I loved it sooo much!! Since we got married on the coldest week in Columbus, I also wore an antique 1960's cream fur coat that was given to me years ago. I think there's a picture of that if you click on my name.

I loved everything about that day...and wouldn't change one tiny little detail :luv:
