I was just wondering... we spend so much time in the off-topic forum debating politics that we hardly ever talk about stuff that's "enjoyable." Sure, political debates can be fun, but sometimes they end up going nowhere. Am I really going to change your mind or are you really going to change mine? Probably not.

So I was thinking: How about a thread that discusses our hobbies and what we enjoy doing during our free time (when we're not working, filing for visas, or posting on VJ). Yeah, that seems a little ironic, since to do this, you need to post on VJ. But why not, right? ;)

I'm a big gamer. I've been playing video games on both the PC and consoles since about 1984 or so. That's actually how I met my fiancee. She's a gamer too. In fact, right now we're playing Guild Wars together and it's a blast! I'm an Elementalist/Mesmer and she's a Ranger/Monk. If you don't know what any of that is, then you probably don't have the game.

The other game we were playing a lot together was Gauntlet: The Seven Sorrows on my PS2. There's not a whole lot to it (it's basically the old Gauntlet game, but with much, much better graphics and a relatively minor RPG system thrown in), but it's still fun. It's a great game to play with a lot of people, since you can have up to four players at once.

Hmmm... That's a difficult question at the moment!! My life is pretty boring just now!

I work... in between posting on VJ.... I live where I work so, after work I come downstairs to my room and post on VJ... I enjoy playing games and stuff too, but I can't at the moment as my laptop isn't a very good one! It can just about cope with the internet and not much of anything else!

I also spend much of my free time on the phone to Chris.

Occasionally, I walk down to the beach and hang out with friends etc, although I don't know anyone around here really.. Most of my friends live 40 miles away and I don't have a car. The public transportation is complete ####### around here too. I live on the South West coast of England and I swear sometimes it's like living at the end of the earth! I am going 40 miles by public transport tomorrow and it's gonna take 2 and a half hours!!! By car it takes 40 minutes, if that.

I spend a lot of time in an eBay group that I have been a member of for 3 years too... And I read a lot. If I had money, I would also shop a lot ;)

Then, when I am in America I enjoy all sorts of things. Our main hobbies are hiking and camping. I like to get out and explore! Chris is also a snow board instructor in the winter months, so I am slowly learning to do that too! Not so good on the snowboard though, I don't seem to cope with the whole going sideways thing, and have a feeling I would be much better with a pair of ski's! I will get there in the end though!

I also love travelling. I haven't done as much as I would have liked in the past couple of years (Apart from my visits to America) But as soon as all this visa stuff is out of the way and we both have enough money, I would love to start the travelling thing again! There are so many places that I would love to go and see!

I, too partake of entirely too many computer games. My all time obsession being Dungeon Keeper 2. And my addiction to VJ has found me making free time to read and post when Im supposed to be doing other more productive things. And then I spend a fair amount of time knitting and making things for the baby. Occasionaly the hubster and I go out for a date, dinner and shopping which is always a treat.

I love shopping! lol Shopping for anything really...shoes, purses, clothes, gifts for people, housewares, etc. I'm an addict.

I like hanging out with family & friends, sitting around enjoyin the craic. Maybe a nice glass of wine.

I like anything of indulgence really...from hour long baths, to getting a massage or facial, etc.

I love playing the hidden object computer games- Mystery Case Files and anything similar. I have been buying lots lately- I hope Mel doesn't freak when the credit card bill comes :)

We entertain lots here and there is always someone coming over- I do lots of cooking and cleaning.

I enjoyed gardening back home- here with the frogs and cockroaches and other things that freak me out (I love the lizards though) I don't like being in the yard doing that stuff when I am alone out there.

I read or watch tv in my free time. Most read now since I've gotten into an author who has done a series of books, Janet Evanovich. Her Stephanie Plum books are awesome.

Both my husband and myself have really enjoyed the Stephanie Plum series. I just started another one of her books, "Motor Mouth", but I can't get into it quite as much as the Stephanie Plum series.

Hubby and I always share time working in the garden, doing home improvements and reading.

Things I like...

For a few months now I do a lot of things related to being pregnant. :P Looking at baby things, research about pregnancy, childbirth, and newborns, etc. Watching TV shows about birth.

I haven't read a lot lately but I like reading, renting a movie on Friday nights, inviting friends over our house on Saturday nights, or going to their houses, or meeting up somewhere for ice cream or coffees. Seeing friends again on Sunday at church or out to lunch.

Window shopping more than shopping. I love shopping but have to limit myself! Getting lunch with my mom and sister a few times a week. Hanging out at my mom's house. My mom is one of my best friends.

Going to church, sometimes I play guitar and sing for leading the music at church (not as much lately since I am pregnant and tired!).

Reading on www.babycenter.com.

The past couple months I like watching Jeopardy , I try to learn as much as possible about things I've never heard of. I want to know a lot! LOL I want to be a smarty pants.

And I watch various TV shows. No video games or gaming, thankfully Suj is not into it either. :P (I know it can consume hours of the day!)

Married since 9-18-04(All K1 visa & GC details in timeline.)
