Husband gets £870 life-size tattoo of his wife - then discovers she is having affair

Last updated at 11:44am on 8th October 2007

After 15 happy years with his wife, Alan Jenkins decided it was time for the ultimate expression of love.

So, determined to prove his devotion, he had a lifesize image of her face - along with those of their two daughters - tattooed on his back.

The painful procedure took 20 hours and cost £870.

Unfortunately for the besotted Alan, it also backfired on a monumental scale after Lisa, 36, absconded with a 25-year-old Latvian hunk she had met at work.

Speaking last night, the jilted steelworker, said: "It's a real sickener. I thought she was happy.

"I had it because I thought we loved each other - I feel very betrayed."

Lisa met her new love, fitness instructor Kaspars Gavars, at work and now intends to move him into the family home in Port Talbot, South Wales, - once Alan has moved out.

"I didn't plan to fall in love with Kaspars - it just happened," she said. "And I never wanted Alan to have my face tattooed on his back in the first place."

Alan, who has two girls Daniella, ten and Jade, 15, only grew suspicious after Kaspars started giving Lisa lifts to work.

He could be forgiven for wanting his wife off his back for good, but despite his heartache, he has no plans to have to tattoo removed.

"Lisa may have left me but she'll be on my back forever thanks to the tattoo," he said. "But I've still got plenty of room on my chest if I get hooked up again.

It's never a good idea to get inked with someone's name or image.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I've been thinking of getting my Father's portrait, he has been dead for 49 years now.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

You'd 'think' that she would have mentioned something about the 'latvian hunk' BEFORE he actually went ahead and did it.... That's a little bit sadistic really...

That cheating wife looks like she fell out of the ugly tree and hit several of the larger branches on the way down. Sorry, but I have a low opinion of cheaters of any stripe.

Feel sorry for her husband though, but I too think getting a tattoo of your parter is tempting fate. Maybe if you both went in and got one of each other at the same time it would be ok. That way if you break up both of you will need laser removal or have an embarrassing daily reminder.

This guy seems a bit slow though. Should have noticed his wife was straying or at least realize any future females he's with will probably pick up her clothes and walk out the door the minute she sees the tattoos.
