(Starting this one since the other went downhill.)

I had a hard time sleeping last night and to be honest I had dates mixed up and wasn't sure if today was Sept 11th or tomorrow, but I woke up earlier than usual this morning with a weird dream so I just got out of bed instead of falling back asleep into the same dream. Then I put on the TV and saw that it was Sept 11th today. So I just was praying. Praying that something bad doesn't happen today, and praying for the families who lost someone, and for anyone who was effected.

Today is for those of us old enough remembered with the same clarity as the day JFK was assasinated. You can recall exactly where you were and what you were doing when you heard the news. I remember seeing the second plane hit the second tower while watching the news as well as the collapse of both towers.

May God grant peace and healing to all the surviors and all those who responded to help.

My thoughts are with all who lost someone and with the brave people who worked at the World Trade Center site in the months afterwards.... I was at the site less than 2 weeks ago and just standing there brought back all the imigages from that awful day...

If anyone is in NY go to the little church at the side of the site.. it is full of letters and cards from all over the world and the stories of the rescue workers and red cross workers.... a very moving expirence...

9/11 let us not forget.....

For some reason, I always think of the brave souls on Flight 93 first. I dunno why - I guess I like their 'fight back' attitude. Their actions saved countless more lives, no doubt.

Today's a tough day for everyone, I think (well, anyone with a heart anyway). (F)

My sentiments exactly (except for the JFK part....memories just from video of that one!)

I had chills all morning and thought I was going to spill tears more then once. I pray for everyone involved and hope they find solace one way or another.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

So the other thread was closed?? :bonk: Anyway, it is a sad day,but also a day for reflection. Since 2003, I always try to volunteer on 9/11 and today I am going with my husband to bring food and help stock a food pantry. Then we have some things being picked up by the Purple Heart later from home.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I totally agree with this recommendation.. http://www.saintpaulschapel.org/ It is truly a life-changing experience. My husband and I went to ground zero to pay our respects and to get a better understanding of what it was like for New Yorkers.. It was a moving heartbreaking experience, and we found solace in the church afterwards seeing how in spite of such a evil and unspeakable event SUCH good prevailed.. I have not been the same since.

One display particularly haunted me- the one where children from the city of Hiroshima sent origami and letters to the people of NYC. It was a moment of amazing clarity for me. We are all in this together. My thoughts and prayers go out to the survivors, the rescue workers, and those families who were changed forever by that dark day.
