Religious law varies on its attitude toward secular law. Breaking a law is only a sin, though, if the action in so breaking is a sin. That's a little vague, and the presumption is to obey all moral laws but murdering = sin. Theft = sin. Breaking the speed limit? Probably not breaking divine law. Working illegally? I think it's a stretch to call that a sin. (I'm not going to confess to babysitting without filling out an I-9.)

7 deadly sins:

Pride is excessive belief in one's own abilities, that interferes with the individual's recognition of the grace of God. It has been called the sin from which all others arise. Pride is also known as Vanity.

Envy is the desire for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation.

Gluttony is an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires.

Lust is an inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body.

Anger is manifested in the individual who spurns love and opts instead for fury. It is also known as Wrath.

Greed is the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual. It is also called Avarice or Covetousness.

Sloth is the avoidance of physical or spiritual work.

Damn- I broke all of those within the last hour!!

slowing down in your old age eh?

--passes to Elijah--and Moses scores!!! :innocent::devil:

I thought the joke went:

...and Gretzky gets the rebound puck and scores!

:)

I've actually heard quite a number of variations, I just picked my favorite. :)

...And apparently opened up quite a can of worms along with it.

Makes me glad to be a heathen, though I still think Jesus was a pretty cool dude.

05-13-06 - Met at Neo Nightclub in Chicago through a mutual friend.

05-24-06 - First formal date, followed immediately by weekend spent together.

09-07-06 - First trip to the UK. Sick most of the time, loved it anyway. :)

11-21-06 - Alasdair comes in for Thanksgiving.

03-28-07 - Second trip to the UK, flew out to Northern Ireland to meet the parents.

06-12-07 - Alasdair's next visit, we go everywhere and do everything. :)

06-17-07 - We become formally engaged, though it'd been in discussion for months.

07-27-07 - I-129F packet sent to Nebraska Service Center.

07-30-07 - I-129F packet received at Nebraska Service Center and forwarded to California.

08-24-07 - Check finally cashed!

08-25-07 - NOA1 Received!

01-30-08 - NOA2 Finally Received!

03-18-08 - Packet 3 Received!

04-03-08 - Packet 4 Received!

04-28-08 - Interview at 8:30am

Fiance still an idiot, sent wrong doc, still waiting on arrival date.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I would appreciate a mature sensitivity to other members and their religious belief, I am offended by the blasphemy in this thread.

It is entirely possible to believe what you want to believe without being insulting.

Jesus is my Lord and Saviour and these negative comments are provocative and uncalled for. Please be respectful and exercise some sensitivity

on this cultural and religious diverse board.

Please be sensitive to the need/right of others to say whatever the hell they want about religion.....

It ain't blasphemy if the speaker ain't of your religion.

Would it make sense for me to fear retribution from something I don't believe exists?

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.
