When Long Process causes stress Due to NVC

hello ,

My this thread has nothing to do with the legal visa process. I dont know whether i should post this in here. But i want to share my heart. Due to this long process and when it gets delayed due to unnecessary reasons... there is so much stress between me and my wife. My kids miss me a lot. they take my name all the time. I wonder what happens between other couples / relationships... I and my wife have decided not to talk about the NVC and not even take its name in our chats and conversation. It makes all of us frustrated isnt it.... I was about to break my cell phone the other day....... There is no concentration at work...... Our mind is always locating and searching our papers in our NVC offices in our own imaginations.

I wonder what others feeel.... God bless you alll & I hope the next week will bring good news for all of us who are having endless waits....Jigi

due to the long procedures it very hard to keep things cool....even in my case my hubby and I have decieded the same things which is not to talk about it cuz it makes more things spoil....we cant' even keep cool due to the stress involved.

i'm sure we are not just the only ones going through all this!

I think most of the couples feel that frustration. I remember just now that I prefer not to talk about the process with my fiance. I know i was mean with him, since our time was just increasing due to his traveling work he was not able to be at home to fill and just recollect the papers for our I-134 and frustrated me that much since I already quit my job I have nothing else but wait and keep waiting. But we decided to talk about the good times that we have being together and that gave us more calm. I guess with kids around things are much different, but I just feel sharing what we had to tell u that u are not alone.

It is very frustrating to deal with day in and day out. When you see other couples who are together it makes you even more sad. You just have to try and keep your head up no matter what. I will never take my husband for granted after he is finally here with me.

Yeah bud, I feel ya on this one. I honestly think though, they can "afford" to do so

because they have the convenience of their family here, their wives here, or

they have the ability to readily form a relationship. If they were married overseas

or even across the borders, perhaps they would understand the stress, frustration,

and just the sheer damn pain that it causes you.

If they understood all that, perhaps they would work with a sense of urgency. I own a

business and go through probably 1000-1500 pieces of paper a month ranging from

reports, bills to business offers, and if I worked at the pace they worked at over at

the USCIS or NVC, I would not have a business at the moment.

That being said, perhaps there is alot going on that we don't see that causes delays,

but if I have to pay my employees on time, pay my taxes on time, file my reports

on time, and update my ledgers ona daily basis, that too on my own, I don't see

why one person could not handle immigration papers in the same expedient manner.

Especially, since they have been doing it so long.

We are having the same problems here.. it might be worse. We are separated over 8 months now for the process of visa after 11 years of marriage with 2 kids.

My depression is getting worse..

Kids already start talking about staying in Japan with their daddy and me.

Maybe, it might be easier to do since Japanese immigration is not that bad as much.

Your applicaton is in already in NVC, right ? Ours is not even approved yet in USCIS after 6month waiting period.

Our kids don't speak English anymore.. So they hardly talk with their daddy on the phone.

I started this thread so that cpls/relationships who are in the same situation as i am can come together and just share the pain.... We say it in India" Sadness decreases as u share, and Happiness increases as u share".... Some one in the thread ... We should talk about the best if the times we spent with each other....... And of kids... they r god... they are so pure.. that they pray with heart...... NVC.... We beg to u , if that makes u feel better... Just let us be with our loved ones.......

I'm Maekai05's husband. We've been married 11 years and have 2 children. I'm American, she's Japanese. We were living in the UK for the past 5 years. On leaving, we decided it would be nice for the kids to stay in Japan during the visa process. That was in January. We filed early march just after the law change which prevented us applying in Japan. I went to visit in May for a week, and have otherwise not seen them. If there is no end in sight, I'll considering moving there and get some sort of job until we can all move to the US agian.

It's causing tremendous stress on our marriage. We fight a lot and I worry what effect it's having on the kids. I think your idea of not talking about it is a good one. What's the point? It's not in our hands (though you should exhaust your options - filing appeals, writing your congressman, etc).

We're at the mercy of a system. The same type of system which caused the passport problems. 1) Change law which increases applications 2) Don't add enough staff or institute adequate processes to handle increase 3) Huge delays. You must have been happy when you got approved so quicky but now so disappointed.

We are in the same boat as all of you, waiting to be reunited. The separation is so hard, but it helps me to know that I have my friends here on VJ to turn to with my woes and share my happiness.

We have been in the process for a year and there is still no light at the end of the tunnel as it seems our approved petition has been sent to AP HELL. After which there is still a 4-7 month process to wait for an interview in Montreal.

All of this with seriously ill infant that I must take care of on my own.

It hard to watch tv footage of illegals parading in the streets burning American flags while those of us that are obeying the law are at the mercy of an understaffed and slow moving system.

My husband has been stuck in AP since the beginning of June. We try very hard to focus on my upcoming visit and only talk about immigration once in awhile. Sometimes I just want to quit my job and go stay with him until he can come here.......but I can't right now. Hopefully we'll all be reunited with our loved ones soon.

For my husband and I, the process has been very stressful, but I think in the long run it has brought us closer together. You know, most people never have to go through what we all are going through. They don't have to fight to be able to live with their spouse. Maybe the reason there is so much divorce these days is that people take for granted having their husband or wife there with them, and what a precious gift that is. I know this process has made me appreciate my husband even more because I had to fight to be with him.

It's worth it in the long run. We just have to hold our heads high and push onward.
